July 28, 200322 yr When I first switched the side views, I was quiet disappointed by these views which obviously where taken from the VC. IMO, they don
July 28, 200322 yr Commercial Member Andreas-the option without the VC features some pretty nice side views. When you load the Virtual Cockpit option though, the side views actually ARE the Virtual Cockpit ;-).Cheers, Lefteris Kalamaras - Founder www.flightsimlabs.com
July 28, 200322 yr Commercial Member Lefteris - I think he's saying that the 2D side views look like they're screenshots of the VC - I think I can explain:PMDG uses 3D Studio Max (the pro "payware" version of GMAX) to do their modeling and artwork - the sideviews are actually 2D exports of the 3DSM 3D models, not screens of the VC...Ryan Ryan MaziarzFor fastest support, please submit a ticket at http://support.precisionmanuals.com
July 28, 200322 yr Ryan, If you are using the VC version of the aircraft, the *Side Views* are the VC, as for the 2d panels, their art work is great, it's only the *Height* or *View* out of them that has been talked about that I aware of on this forum. July 28, 200322 yr What I miss from the side views is the pack of PMDG pretzels we got in the 757 for Fly!II. PMDG pretzels are the best virtual pretzels on the market :-smile12Andrew
July 29, 200322 yr I agree, the pretzels are really missed :-hah Perhaps PMDG could add this into the update ;-)

July 29, 200322 yr This is what we need to discuss, I feel the art work is great, now for *EYEPOINT* this can be changed and if enough people feel it needs to be addressed I am sure PMDG will look into it. The whole idea is to make us happy and I have faith they will do what they always do, please the customers. So speak up and state your opine in this regard fellas...[h5]Best Wishes,Randy J. July 29, 200322 yr Hi Randy,I agree. The artwork is EXCELLENT. The eyepoint seems ok on the left side too, but the right side 2D views are pretty useless during visual approaches because they block so much of the outside world. A semi-workaround for me has been to just drop the right wing to see what's out there. The problem though is that then you have to drop the left wing to get back on your origional heading. It's pretty bad airmanship to be zig-zagging back and forth like this on base. :) I too hope that PMDG will look into this.-Shaun
July 30, 200322 yr Thanks for your replies! Nevertheless, I cannot state that the side views artwork is excellent. In my opinion, the PIC767 and DF737 sideviews are far more realistic than the PMDGs. And I think the realistic feeling diminuishes quiet a lot when I switch from the nicly done main panel to the side views. The views on the PSS747/777 series had the same qualitiy, but these panels are about three year old.
