August 2, 200322 yr Hi all,I hope you can help me out with this. I've tried to install the SU1 to my FS2002. I reinstalled the main package and applied the SU1. After that my main panel was black. Not even the stand-by instruments or the MZOTRLA (whatever :-)) did show up. When trying to switch to the O/H panel using the keyboard my FS crashed. Looking into my GAUGE folder I found that the names where all changed! Also the PMDGOptions.dll in MODULES was changed. So, what is this all about? I guess I'm alone on this because I haven't seen anyone else posting trouble like this? Here are my folder before installing the SU1:http://testforums.avsim.net/user_files/27334.jpghttp://testforums.avsim.net/user_files/27336.jpgAnd after the installation of SU1:http://testforums.avsim.net/user_files/27337.jpghttp://testforums.avsim.net/user_files/27338.jpgRegards, Mats JohanssonPMDG Flight Test Dept | Asus Z270-A | Intel i5-7600K @ 4.8 GHz OC/H2O | nVidia Geforce GTX 1070 8GB OC/O2|
August 3, 200322 yr My portion of my fs2002 guage folder after installing the update is similar! It was fine with the original installed! Again this is after the update!Mark TolkaczHow about a list of the files for both 2002 and FS9 so I can rename these and start flying?
August 3, 200322 yr Commercial Member Gents-Are you both operating on Win98 by chance? This problem is being caused by your local machine forcing the installer to write the names in 8.3 format.Somewhere on your machine there is a setting that controls this... I do not have access to a non winXP machine- so you can help me to help you if you can find it- re-install the 737- re-run the patch and let me know if that solves it.I'm working on it from this end as well- but not having much luck as yet. Robert S. Randazzo PLEASE NOTE THAT PMDG HAS DEPARTED AVSIM You can find us at: http://forum.pmdg.com
August 3, 200322 yr I also have the same problem. I'm using Windows Me and after the patch I have black screens, no buttons are clickable as they were before and the menu options on the panel are gone. I wouldn't know if it changed the file names or not based on I didn't look at them before. I could try and delete the whole thing, then just use the basic plane without the service pack? I know your working hard to correct the issues, I wanted to let you know I think this is a great plane, once I get it running again...Mickey KopanskiKLAS

Let's check something out for you. Go into your Flight Simulator folder (Flight Simulator 9Guages or FS2002Guages) and check to see if you see this:**A version**PMDG_737NG_Main.gauPMDG_737NG_Main_Panel_Synch.gauPMDG_737NG_OHD_APU.gauetc...OR**B version**PMDG_7~1.gauPMDG_7~2.gauPMDG_&~3.gauetc...If you see the B version, it means that your operating system is using the 8.3 naming format (bad!) rather than the 253 character naming format (good!) when renaming files. The SU1 patch uses the OS renaming functionality when it patches which is what is causing your heartache (the SU1 patch is not at fault here). You can either manually rename them all the PMDG files to the proper names OR find the setting in WinME/9x which is defaulting to 8.3.My guess is manually renaming the files is probably the way to go. All you have to do is remove the PMDG and reinstall the original. Before patching, make a list of the file names and then run the patch. Then go in and fix the names.SPECIAL NOTE: It's my understanding that the PMDGOptions.DLL also suffers the same problem and that file is under the (FS2002Modules or Flight Simulator 9Modules) folder. You'll want to rename that one as well back to PMDGOptions.DLL from PMDGOpt~1.DLL
August 3, 200322 yr Thanks. I really need a new computer (1GHZ Pentium, 256RAM, 64MB Video and of course the horrible Windows Me) but for the time being I've still got this one and will muddle through with the gauge files and the dll. I attempted FS2004, but after trying to use the PMDG 737, the frame rates were unflyable. So I'm back to FS2002 for now. Thanks for your help.Mickey
