August 2, 200322 yr First off want to say thank you to PMDG for this awesome patch, things are operating MUCH more smoothly now, FPS shot way up and the bugs have pretty much all been cleared up.I do have one issue and I think I saw someone else report it but didn't see a reply...and this only seems to happen with this plane. Every once in a while for no apparent reason the sound goes crazy, I won't be doing the same thing always it's random but all of a sudden the sound completely distorts and sounds VERY static. It's not an FPS issue because i'm posting 20+ FPS so it's not a memory issue I don't think. Does anyone know what I can do?Thanks in advance and again PMDG good work!!Jason
August 2, 200322 yr Commercial Member Jason-we've not had a single report about sounds doing this. As such, we have to attribute this to another factor, unless more people come and say the same...Cheers, Lefteris Kalamaras - Founder www.flightsimlabs.com
August 2, 200322 yr I have the same problem Jason. I'm using an old SoundBlaster Live with DX9b and the sound is just terrible. The only way I've found to get around the problem is to disable the sound acceleration using dxdiag (StartRundxdiag). I sure wish Creative would give us some new XP drivers for this card.Doug Intel 10700K @ 5.1Ghz, Asus Hero Maximus motherboard, Noctua NH-U12A cooler, Corsair Vengeance Pro 32GB 3200 MHz RAM, RTX 2060 Super GPU, Cooler Master HAF 932 Tower, Thermaltake 1000W Toughpower PSU, Windows 10 Professional 64-Bit, 100TB of disk storage. August 2, 200322 yr I'll see if disabling that works, I really have not one clue what could be causing it, I believe I have pretty up to date sound drivers I have SoundBlaster Live 5.1 so it's a pretty new and high quality sound card, I'll tinker around and see if I can fix it. Other then that I'm not having any issues with the patch, she flies beautifully so again thank you to all of you guys who worked on it!
August 3, 200322 yr I'm having the same problem. I did a clean install of the original 737 and ran the patch. When I load the 737 in FS9, I now get a recycling garbled sound that gets worse when I display the VC . I didn't have any sound problems with the 737 in fs200, and I don't have any sound problems with any other plane in FS9.My system specs:AMD 2000+, Windows XP, Nivida Geforce2 GTS (64MB), Sound Blaster Live Platinum, and 512MB RAM.I love this plane and would really like to fly it in FS9. Can someone please help.Thanks.-Dan
August 3, 200322 yr I've tried playing with my settings and drivers and it seems to be to no avail. It's the ONLY issue I have with the plane at the moment, I've tried using other aircraft and none of the others give me that sound issue but when I use the pmdg 737 i randomly get REALLY garbled sound particularly when i change views, it's almost impossible to get rid of unless I switch planes then switch back to the 737...very strange. Anyone else have this issue or suggestions?Again, other then that this patch rocks!!! Everything is so much smoother!Jason
August 3, 200322 yr Yes this seems to only happen in COF for me, I too have SB live 5.1 and DX9b, if you switch to SPOT view happens, after sitting for 5 minutes the sound problem went away, strange indeed. Let's see if we have a trend in drivers for SB or DX9b. Changing sound quality had no effect for my system. [h5]Best Wishes,Randy J. August 4, 200322 yr I had the same issue and tried all possible hardware setting changes to no avail. I have now updated my Soundblaster Live drivers to the latest version and problems are gone. Should have done this right away, but I always hesitate to change drivers that work fine (which is what they did, for everything else anyway).Got the update here:http://www.creative.com/su/cGo.asp?cGo=m1&...areupdate%2EaspHope it can be of help for you, too!Georges
August 4, 200322 yr Hi Georges, yes I had same problem, not only for PMDG 737 also dreamflet C152 as well. By upgrading my Soundblaster Live driver, problems gone..Regards
August 4, 200322 yr My bad. After I reformatted and reinstalled WinXP Pro a couple of weeks ago I forgot to reinstall the update from Creative for the sound card drivers. Installed the update last night and all the sound problems are gone.
