FMC Insufficient Fuel Problem

Featured Replies

I just did my first flight with the 737-700 and flew from KBOS to KIAD and flew with a full load of fuel.I programmed the fmc and it would keep showing a Insufficient Fuel message,I cruised at FL260.Everything else worked great was able to import my FP from FSBuild 2.1 and the plane flies great.Hope someone can let me know about this fmc problem? It would have been great to have a tutorial flight with full fmc programming. This is rpobably not a bug. I fly ps1 regularly and the boeing fmc is designed to let you know if you're going to run out of fuel based on what the plane is doing at that precise moment. So during the climb that message will always be popping up, as you're buring fuel very quickly, but it should disappear during the cruise, or at very latest descent. A quick programming tip for you - don't enter your star until late in the trip, just put the destination airport as your final waypoint and that will aid the fmc in it's calculations. Hope that helps, ant

Thanks,I tried that and still get the message during the whole flight about every 3 min from takeoff to landing. Jeffg

Jeff-(I'm being Cheeky)Carry more fuel! ;-)Seriously- do you know what you entered for your reserve fuel? If you set that high- you'd get yelled at by the FMC...

I set usually 5.2 for reserve fuel and this always works for me. That is about an hour of hold fuel.
