August 3, 200322 yr Hello,I'm a new 737NG user running FS9. I need help installing navaid database into the FMC as it was not supplied with a base pack and IMHO it should of been. Here's what I've done so far:I've downloaded NAVAID files for 767PIC and created a folder in C:.../FS9/FMCWP/NAVAID - I've extracted all the files into this folder and there's still nothing in the FMC's database. I cannot import the FS2004 flight plan into the FMC without this database. Am I doing something wrong? Also, is there an option to import FS2004 flight plan without inputing it manually into the FMC? Is there a tutorial for using FMC?Last one, how do I go into the cabin of the plane? Please help.

August 4, 200322 yr Jacek,Not sure what the chain of events was when you installed your navdata. Did you just unzip the archive from www.navdata.at, or did you run the installer in that archive? And, also, you cannot import default FS plans into the FMC. There is a FMC tutorial that came in the PMDG documentation, and I am working on a tutorial right now(expect it out in a couple of days)
August 4, 200322 yr Frank, Thanks for the help, it still does not recognize that database, I've browsed thru the entire forum and I saw you've mentioned the same thing to somebody else. Thanks for the effort to help, I will be looking forward to your tutorial. In a mean time I guess I'll just have to wait for the answer from the PMDG guys.
August 4, 200322 yr Jacek, Everyone has to sign their names as the forum rules clealy state, this means each post, please don't take offence at the request, thank you. I noticed that you created a folder called NAVAID not NAVDATA? Can you please rename your folder thus:
X:Program FilesMicrosoft GamesFSXXXXFMCWPNavData
and tell me if that works.[h5]Best Wishes,Randy J. August 4, 200322 yr ba747heavy(Fred Clausen),Hi. Just wanted to say I look forward to your FMC tutorial. I pretty new at this and only have limited experience flying IFR. And there's seems to be no tooltips(mouseovers) on the instruments in the PMDG 737, and no GPS available. No GPS? Arrrgh! Lol. The FMC looks kinda scary. :-laugh1 But so did Linux after I first installed it years ago and was staring at a blinking command prompt after the install finished. And now I'm a Sair/GNU LCP(Linux Certified Professional). :-samurai Anyways, I'm sure to make use of your tutorial once it's finished. Glad to hear your doing one! Thanks,Jimmy RichardsOne Tin Soldier
August 4, 200322 yr Have you run the installer? Because you said that you made the folder for it to be in, which leads me to believe that it really isn't installed ;-) Go to the FMCPNAVAID folder and see if there is a .exe file in there. If there is, you haven't installed the data properly. Just run the exe, follow the promps, and you'll be good to go!Once you sort this problem out you will be amazed at this plane, it is such a pleasure to fly! :D
August 4, 200322 yr Jacek, just checking to be sure, have you read the instructions regarding installation of navdata in the Easy Setup FAQ? /Tord Hoppe, Sweden
August 4, 200322 yr Guys,I've got everything to work perfectly. Thank you very much for all the help. Improper naming of NavData folder was a problem, I don't know where I came up with "Navaid". Anyhow, I'm flying as we speak and everything seems to be perfect. I have two more easy questions though, is it possible to add GPS to the panel? Also, from what I can see, it is impossible to use PC keyboard with FMC?Once again, thank you for the effort in getting me some help, I usually don't have much problems with new birds but this gave me some hard time.
August 4, 200322 yr You could add the GPS to the panel, but you couldn't use it to influence the autopilot. And yes, you can use the keyboard. That long white bar on the left(right?) side, if pressed, will make keyboard presses appear on the FMC. Very nifty indeed. Just make sure to click the bar again when your done.
