December 21, 200322 yr Hi allWhen I fly an ILS for RWY 07 I dont get a DME readout. The frequency is correctly tuned. And I have the correct NAV selected.Any ideas as to why? Thanks for your input
December 21, 200322 yr Commercial Member Goose (PLEASE POST your real name!),not ALL ILS beacons are DME-equipped. Could this be your situation?Cheers, Lefteris Kalamaras - Founder www.flightsimlabs.com
December 21, 200322 yr HiNo it is DME equiped. I used to fly the approach in real life with students.
December 22, 200322 yr Commercial Member That's FS's problem then - the NG's nav radios tune to the FS scenery - nothing in the NG could cause it to suddenly not have DME... Ryan MaziarzFor fastest support, please submit a ticket at http://support.precisionmanuals.com
December 22, 200322 yr Might this be the same problem Goose (hard to believe that's a real name) is referring to...http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...8&mesg_id=31008
December 22, 200322 yr If you open yssy in afcad you will see that rwy7 ILS is without DME in FS. However rwy 25 has DME.Jos
December 23, 200322 yr "When I fly an ILS for RWY 07 I dont get a DME readout. The frequency is correctly tuned. And I have the correct NAV selected."If you have both Navs tuned to the ILS frequency, Goose, then I don't see how you could get a DME readout. Rwy 07 doesn't have an ILSDME. I checked the latest airline charts today... and also tuned into the ILS (07) on two different aircraft. There is no ILSDME (ie. a DME co-located with the ILS).Approaches made using ILS and DME "SY" (Sydney VOR) will probably require you to tune into ILS 07 (109.9Mhz) with one nav receiver and Sydney VOR (112.10 MHz) with the other Nav receiver.Make sense?Cheers.Ian.P.S. Only Rwy 25, 34R and 16L have ILSDME's.
