Flight Director kicks off when on ground

Featured Replies

As part of my checklist, I turn on the F/D prior to engine start. I've discovered that after some period of time , it turns off. I don't know if I've done something or not.I changed the checklist, and turned it on during the taxi checks, only to find that when I pushed TOGA it had once again kicked off. Still have no idea when it happened. It's not a real big deal, because know that I'm aware of it, I check it prior to pushing TOGA, and turn it back on if necessary; however, it would be nice to have it stay on.Thanks,James

The FD and AT actually should be turned on only right as you take the runway for takeoff - what use is a *flight* director sitting at the gate or taxiing? ;) :D

Ok, but the PMDG checklist clearly shows the F/D being turned on prior to start.I can live with it, I just wish it wouldn't kick off for no apparent reason.James

James,Make sure you don't have a joystick or key command set for the F/D switch. RegardsPaul Gollnick :-cool Technical Operations/Customer Operational SupportPrecision Manuals Development Groupwww.precisionmanuals.comhttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/devteam.jpg
