Frames per second displat

I notice on some posters screenshots that the frame rate etc. is displayed in red in the upper lest corner of the screen. I think I remmember seeing that on one of my machines a long time ago, must have been an accident? How do you show it?I put a new rig together. An Athlon64-3400+ on the MSI K8T Neo fsr-2 with 1Gig Corsair TwinX LLP memmory. A Maxtor 40 Gig ATA-133 HD for now. Allso a Saphire Radeon 9800 Pro.After installing Win2k I got on MS Update and got all the updates except Media Player 9. MS for some reason was dog slow, so I figured I would grab it later. I installed fs9 and tried to reinstall 737-NG, no go. I started FS9 and I allmost puked all over my monitor, when I found it was in 8 bit color depth, swithed to 32bit and bingo, beutifull. Fs9 seemed to work great the default GPS tracked much better than it did before. I had forgotten about Media Player 9, tried to install 737-NG, no go. I figured I would try installing Fs9 again, in the processe I read you need Media Player. This time I went to Microsoft.com and dowloaded the Player file and installed it from the HD. The DLoad took only a minute or so and the install about 30 seconds. With Media Player in place 737-NG installed perfectly in less than a minute. One thing I really notice is the speed that fs9 launches now. With 737-NG before, it took 20 seconds or so to load, now it's allmost instant. Getting out of the app took even longer, now it's about a second or two. The whole sim runs much smoother.Regards

To display the FPS press "Shift+Z" to toggle between displays. Well this is the way it works in FS2002.Philip.

"Shift z" toggles the FPS/info display :)Nathan Ramsey

Yeah yeah, rub it in why don't you ;-) I can't wait to upgrade myself, however, this 1.8 is performing very well, I can't complain much.To display the frames and other data, is Shift+Z once for coordinates and Shift+Z again for framerates. Hit Shift+Z again to diplay both and yet again to get out of it.Chris

When you install fs9 it tells you DX8 or 9 (forget which) and MS Media Player 9 is required. As I stated, I tried to install PMDG 737-NG twice, it would not install. After installing Media Player it installed with no problems. Apparently fs9 and PMDG need some shared files within Media Player.Hey, thanks all.Regards
