  1. Hmm, glad to hear, thanks. I am going to look around a bit more but I am pretty confident that I will go for this model. If the price is as it in the advert then I am quite happy with it.Philip.
  2. I found this link that shows more detail about this notebook: Asus X61ICPhilip.
  3. Hmm, that sounds positive - the one notebook that I am looking at is an Asus X61IC-220DV. It has an Intel Core 2 Duo 2.2 GHZ CPU, 4 GB DDR2 800 RAM, 320 GB SATA HDD, Nvidia 220M GT 1GB GPU and the rest of the goodies that come with notebooks these days. Will this be able to run FS9 in a decent manner, even if the FPS is a bit low?Philip.
  4. Hi guys,Looking at buying a decent performing but not over-the-top priced notebook. Primarily it will be used for internet, office and other daily tasks, but I would like it to be able to at least run FS9 with decent performance even with average settings enabled - antialiasing etc. In terms of budget, well I would imagine in Dollars somewhere between $500 and $900. But basically what I am seeing locally available at the upper range in my budget there are Intel Core 2 Duo 2 GHZ plus and a variety of graphics chips ranging from ATI Radeon HD3200 shared graphics, Intel X3100 shared graphics, Intel GMA X4500 shared graphics, Nvidia 9300M dedicated graphics and lastly Nvidia 220M GT dedicated graphics. My ultimate goal would have been a MacBook Pro, but way out of my budget, even the 13.3" white MacBook is above my budget besides being a bit small in display size.I don't want to go any lower than a 2 GHZ Core 2 Duo, but which of the graphics chips above will work or in particular not work for FS9? I know that integrated/shared graphics is more often than not useless for 3D games etc. What is the difference between the Nvidia 9300M and the Nvidia 220M GT?Philip.
  5. I just upgraded to a new PC specifically for FS9 and built around the i7 860 CPU - check the link below to see some screenshots that I posted a few days ago:http://forums1.avsim.net/index.php?showtopic=266495Specs:MSI P55-GD65 130W DDR3 GB LAN ATX S1366MBDLG 22X DVD WRITER SATA NERO 7 + FACESIGMA AEGIS 0.8MM BLACK - NO PSUPROLINE 600W ATX12V V2.2,12CM FAN, NON PFCMSI N260GTX-T2D896-OC 896MB DDR3 448BIT x1Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 1 TB SATAII 32MB 3.5" x1APACER 2GB DDR3 1333MHZ DIMM PC3-10600 x2INTEL i7 860 QUAD CORE 2.80GHZ 8MB 2.5GT S1156Philip.
  6. Not familiar with that plane, but it can only be the FDE - the model is simply for the visual aspect of the plane that you see, otherwise it could just as well be a brick that flies in FS...Philip.
  7. Thanks guys,It reassures me that I am making the right decision then to go the i7 route - it is going to stretch my budget a bit, but I think it's worth it in the long run! Now I just need to get the ball rolling - now the third attempt, so "take 3" it seems...All the best,Philip.
  8. Hi guys,I am at a stage of preparing to put a new PC together within a budget of course. My original idea was going to be something like a Core 2 Duo CPU but then I thought about the i7. However, the guy that gave me the quote who is also fairly into FS himself seemed to be under the impression that for FS9 the i7 would not be ideal and that there would be a bottleneck in performance created. He is also basing my system spec on some of the Jetline Systems PC's and according to their performance guide chart, the i7 is low on performance for FS9 compared to the Core 2 Quad. So he then put a quote together for a system based on the Core 2 Quad 9550 - unfortunately there seems to be a lack of stock of a decent 775 motherboard so he is now suggesting going the i7 route. So my question is, will the i7 860 QUAD CORE 2.80GHZ with 8MB cache not be able to run FS9 decently compared to CORE 2 QUAD 2.83GHZ Q9550 S775? Of course this is based on the rest of the components being of similar spec level. These days one does not find many (if any) benchmark tests with FS9 being used for newer hardware. I do plan to investigate FSX, but my main aim is still for FS9...Any advice would be great, thanks!Philip.
  9. Hey Esa,Really superb work to yourself and the AFG team!! I've been eagerly waiting for this release since I saw the first previews!! Really has been worth the wait too!!Philip.
  10. Thank you David,Will check it out.All the best,Philip.
  11. What happened to this installer in the library? Removed? Even the previous files seem to be gone. I downloaded all except the Environment Indigo 1.5 package, but it's nowhere to be found, I presume due to the above issues. But were there any issues with the previously uploaded files? Have not tried them yet so not sure...Philip.
  12. Wonderful video, but always sad to see these magnificent planes retire!Philip.

Hi guys,My first post here. Firstly, thanks for the developement of the Tinmouse II panel and packages as a whole, great work!!Something that just concerns me a bit that may need to be clarified some how. When you chaps refer to the "FFX" model I gather that you are in fact talking about the Kittyhawk model which is the later version of the 737-200 model that Erick Cantu made. The "FFX" model was released in early 2003 with the Kittyhawk model being released in 2004 for FS9.All the best,Philip.
  15. I can't wait!! She looks stunning!!Philip.
  16. Hi Dan,Thanks for your reply. Yes, I have also seen that their site and forum have been off-line for a while now. I have mailed them a few days ago and not heard anything yet. Thanks again.Philip.
  17. Hi all,Is anyone here in daily contact with any of the Dreamwings developers? I am trying to get permission to release this repaint of mine as:1.) a full package containing all of Dreamwing's original documents,2.) the appropriate model and air file with an original aircraft.cfg,3.) my updated aircraft.cfg that has my non-reverser and contact points mod included and,4.) my readme with screenshots.5.) Sound and panel will be aliased to the default 737.To see my original post with screenshots, go to http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...57764&mode=fullThanks for you assistance in this respect,Philip.
  18. Hey guys, thanks for the service pack. Looking forward to installing it.I would also like to see the model update released for the exhaust error as well as the trim control surface issue mentioned in a thread a few months ago(when trimming only one of the elevators move).20 megs is no problem for a patch in my opinion, and I am also a 56k dial-upper. LOLThanks again.Philip.
  19. Hey Vin,Thanks for your reply. This is odd, but it works at the moment. I am going to see if I can get the FS9 stock Kingair gauge though. Thanks :-)Philip.
  20. Hi guys - been a while since my last post.I just recently got FS9 and have started to migrate to the new sim. So Sunday I decided to install my B1900 and take her for a spin. I installed her and fired up FS9. Am the flight began I noticed that there were loads of gauges "missing" from the panel. I checked to make sure that all of the PMDG gauges were correctly installed into the gauges folder. After lots of testing and investigation into this I discovered that the PMDG panel uses the gauge "kingair.gau" which was not present in my FS9's gauges folder. So I ended up copying the FS2002 gauge and sorted it out. Has anyone had this issue?I was intrigued to find that this plane performs better in FS9 than it does in FS2002, even in VC and cabin mode. Outstanding!Philip.
  21. Hi Vin, thank you, thank you and thank you!The patience has paid off. I can't wait to try them out.Philip.
  22. >Humm.... Not worthy of a response?? Oh well..>> Mike B.hehehe - yep, everybody is in 737-8/900 mode. There are a few known issues with the B1900D's sound pack which some members like myself have managed to sort out for ourselves, but your problem is different. Does this only happen with this sound pack, or any others? Check how many WAV files are in the "sound" folder - maybe there are some missing. Which would be very odd if you have as you said, re-installed it.Hope this helps.Philip.

I love the 747's, so I would still like to see that become a reality, but I would love to see a PMDG 777! Can you imagine a PMDG version of the awesome Boeing 777-300ER with those massive GE's!!!I like Melvin Rafi's 777's, but it is getting old now and could be improved. His landing gear animations let the model down in my opinion.Philip.

Hi Vin,And also the official paint kit? I can't wait for the new liveries, especially the Namibian one. Thanks.Philip.
  25. Hey guys - how come was my reply deleted? I simply complimented PMDG and John's repaint and shared a screenshot of my repaint. I meant no harm and at a loss for words. Please let me know, because this was un-called for.Philip.P.S. I look forward to the 737-8/900 release.
