February 28, 200422 yr I am trying to run Tim's tutorial from a cold start.Using 1.3, and starting with Tim's default aircraft. When I turn on the battery I get a loud beeping noise (some type of warning) that I am unable to stop. I continued through the tutorial, but none of the other procedures would stop the noise. Even hitting "Q" to turn off the sound will not stop the beeping.Anyone know what I may be doing wrong???I have tried starting with the SWA Classic aircraft, and I am able to use this without the beeping. Thanks,Don Maxwell Don Maxwell (toothjockey) San Diego, CA Raptor Lake i9-13900K / ASUS ROG Strix Z790-F Gaming WiFi 6E LGA 1700 / Gigabyte Geforce RTX4090 Windforce 24GB / Corsair Dominator Platinum RGB 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR5-5600 / Corsair iCUE H150i Elite LCD 58.1 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler / EVGA SuperNOVA 1300 GT / Corsair 5000D Airflow ATX Mid Tower / Samsung 49" 4K / Windows 11 Home 64bit
February 28, 200422 yr Commercial Member Don-Take a quick read through the FAQ on our site, the manual, or the forum... The Takeoff Configuration Warning has been described a bunch of times!(Hint: Check your throttle position....it's most likely the cause...) Robert S. Randazzo PLEASE NOTE THAT PMDG HAS DEPARTED AVSIM You can find us at: http://forum.pmdg.com
February 28, 200422 yr Author Thank you Robert,The throttle was in fact well advanced. Will the Takeoff Configuration Warning sound in the real aircraft before the engines are even started?Sorry Tim (Metzinger)....it's not too smart to ask a guy for help and spell his name wrong. I appologize for the typo (I think I knew a Metzger when I was young). :DDon Maxwell Don Maxwell (toothjockey) San Diego, CA Raptor Lake i9-13900K / ASUS ROG Strix Z790-F Gaming WiFi 6E LGA 1700 / Gigabyte Geforce RTX4090 Windforce 24GB / Corsair Dominator Platinum RGB 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR5-5600 / Corsair iCUE H150i Elite LCD 58.1 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler / EVGA SuperNOVA 1300 GT / Corsair 5000D Airflow ATX Mid Tower / Samsung 49" 4K / Windows 11 Home 64bit
February 29, 200422 yr "Will the Takeoff Configuration Warning sound in the real aircraft before the engines are even started?"Yes, at least on the 737. Other Boeings may or may not be different. Some aircraft takeoff warning logic is based on throttle lever position, others on actual engine rpmsCheers.Ian.
February 29, 200422 yr Don.I notice that if you enter say 5 degree,s in the FMC you will get the warning IF your flaps are NOT at 5 degree's. Even when your taxying and you advance the throttles a little to much. If the aicraft config is correct I notice I get no warning. Just before hitting the TOGO button I advance to 40-50 percent N1 and get no warning unless, as I say, thier is a config problem, i.e. flaps where they dont belong.Regards
