Removing types from aircraft selection list?

Featured Replies

Is it possible to edit the config file so that certain types of the 737NG do not appear? I only ever fly the 737-700 2D cockpit, but tonight I mistakenly selected the VC cockpit and didn't figure it out until I taxiing out for a flight on VATSIM. I didn't think I could change at that point without messing up the FMC programming.Mark Kuebeler

just look at the CFG entries...and the ones with model=vc, model=vcvcab and delete the whole entry!

Better yet, put // or ; in at the begining of those lines. If you want those models back in the future, simply remove the // or ;Jim Harnes

Thanks!Mark Kuebeler

Not a good idea to put "//" in front of the entries in the aircraft.cfg file. FS is pretty pendantic about order and will not show anything after encountering a break in the numbering sequence.Try it by placing "//" in front of the second livery. It, along with every thing after it will not show up.It Was a good thought however. The approach I use is to make a copy of the aircraft.cfg file with every thing in it and rename it "Original Aircraft.cfg." Then I go into the existing file and delete all the 2D & VC only entries. But ya have to renumber the remaining entries in sequence to keep FS happy.-------------------Racartronit means something, but I just can't remember what

It's an excellent idea - IF you do what I left out:place the "//" where you don't want the livery(ies) THEN renember the sims you want to have. So the numbering is sim (0) to sim (x), skipping the liveries which are remed out. Sorry for the omission!Jim Harnes
