March 25, 200422 yr Climbing out of KSJC and get a nice arual TRAFFIC warning (I know it's not SPD INTV but was too cool not to show off ;) http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/68563.jpg Here I am in CLB VNAV-LNAV and notice I have just pushed the SPD INTV button which in turn shows me CURRENT CLB TARGET SPD, it was 300 knots but I set to 280 AND VNAV is still engaged ;). That is what SPD INTV does for us.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/68564.jpgLast shot, I pushed the SPD INTV button once again and presto the MCP SPD window blanks and TARGET IAS goes back to the ORIGINAL TARGET SPD ;)http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/68565.jpg COOL HUH?[h4]Best Wishes,Randy J. March 25, 200422 yr That's excellent, so we can now control the speed and still be assured that we'll meet any alt constraints which we've set in our routing! I'm pretty sure I'm gonna use this feature a lot :)John http://homepage.eircom.net/~eamonnmca/images/logo_ba.JPGwww.bavirtual.co.uk Senior Captain Simflight.com Staff Reviewer
March 25, 200422 yr Like it a lot!!!Do you set the speed before you press the button or when you press it do the speed digits shows allowing you to select whatever speed desired?Davidhttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/68595.jpg David
March 25, 200422 yr I presume you have to press the SPD Intervention button first as the MCP speed is blank when the MCP is set to VNAV commandJohn http://homepage.eircom.net/~eamonnmca/images/logo_ba.JPGwww.bavirtual.co.uk Senior Captain Simflight.com Staff Reviewer
March 25, 200422 yr I can tell you that this is just lovely....and beautyfull to look at.Please be so freely to post others as well.(screenshots ofcourse) :( :)Ramon
March 25, 200422 yr Author In VNAV prior to selection of a NEW speed, the window shows CURRENT TARGET SPD. The only time the window blanks is when you re-select the SPD INTV button which goes back to the original target SPD. PS. You do not see it here but since this is still beta, the TARGET LINE on the associated phase of flight (i.e. CLB/CRZ/DES) will show "280/MCP" not the original target SPD with SPD INTV active) 280 is just my example so will show whatever you set in the window ;)[h4]Best Wishes,Randy J. March 25, 200422 yr Author After reading my responce it was not clear enough ;) What I meant to say is that in VNAV the MCP window is BLANK, one push of the SPD INTV button displays current VNAV target speed, one can then set whatever you like and the plane changes it's speed in accordance to what you set. The new speed will display on the FMC's target line like "280/MCP" and is dynamic like the CRZ CLB where you have the crz page displayed and reset the MCP altitude window this displays on the CDU's s/p...
