March 25, 200422 yr Hi simmers, I've read in another post that it is possible to disable the autogen.xml file in FS9.My questions are how is that done and does it improve frames, last what does it actually do?Thanks guys,Davidhttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/68596.jpg David
March 25, 200422 yr Just rename it to autogen.xml.bakDunno what it does :-lol but it improves frames, thats all that matters :) Cheers,John TavendaleTextures by Tavers - https://www.facebook.com/texturesbytavers
March 25, 200422 yr Hi,Someone more knowledgable may correct me if I am wrong but it seems that autogen.xml generates automatically (randomly?) objects and buildings on sceneries. My guess is that if you are concentrating on piloting the NG, which should have been the purpose of your investment, and not an outside view observer addict it can be disconnected to gain on frame rates.DISCLAIMER:The above reflects only a personal opinion and was written without any intend to offend, harm or criticize in any way or manner any individual, institution, association or company including PMDG.Michael
March 25, 200422 yr Ok - a little off topic here but...Improves frame rates? Say what now...?Gavinhttp://www.interprom.com/gavhttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/ng_driver.jpgSpellink doesn't count!!
March 25, 200422 yr Author Thanks John, I'll try that later on and let you know...David,http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/68622.jpg David
March 25, 200422 yr For accuracy, the file is actually named default.xml - I just zipped mine up and deleted the old. Will help framerate quite a bit. As an aside, there is at least one modified default.xml file out there which removes some of the objects, mostly urban autogen like the KFC's, and leave the rural - logic being that FPS is not as much of an issue flying over farms anyhow. I'd link it for you if the library was up, and at this hour, I'm not going to even try allnodesbusy ;)Best,sg [email protected] | 32gb RAM | EVGA GTX1080 8gb | Mostly P3Dv5 (also IL2:BoX, DCS, XP11)
