March 27, 200422 yr Hi Gavin, my all time favourite addon is flightsoft's "The ultimate Hong Kong Simulation" for FS9 (try flying the famous checkerboard approach and you'll find it hard to go back to a dual cannel ILS landing, simflyers also make great addon scenery and they've now included the possibility to remove some scenery objects in order to improve frames with the display utility, lagosim scenery is also very nice and frame rate friendly but there sceneries are mainly regional or resort airports so if you like the big hubs than look elsewhere.I don't have weather addons so I can't tell you which to choose.Don't know if you have active camera for internal views. If not I really suggest you make that small purchase for a very nice addon. My best,David David
March 27, 200422 yr OSS Gatwick. Probably the best addon scenery there.www.flyoss.comUK2000 scenery covers pretty much all of the UKAerosoft-you're almost guaranteed to get a winner off these guys-the GAP series is probably the best in the business!www.aerosoft.comAll the above cover Europe really well and I'd highly suggest looking into getting them. Also, try www.ifsd.ie for great Irish scenery freeware.John http://homepage.eircom.net/~eamonnmca/images/logo_ba.JPGwww.bavirtual.co.uk Senior Captain Simflight.com Staff Reviewer
March 28, 200422 yr You've hit upon something here with me, the add-on king. With my PMDG planes I go:Sceneries: (all of the ones mentioned above)Weather: ActiveSky2004, really working great for FS2004 nowCockpit: FlightDeck Companion, adds customizable checklists, announcements, co-pilot functions. Just got FSHotseat, so can't comment, yet.ATC services: Radar Contact, a huge improvement over default ATC, and I switch the default ATC over to Comm2 and file a VFR plan in FS so I can still keep an awareness of what's happening. Lot's of flexibility with this program allowing you to request alternate fields, divert for weather, it has holding and traffic diversions and will step profile you.FSBuild 2: Wouldn't leave home without it. Great planning functions, and I'm still learning all this program can do.Weather Radar: I am loving the new Reality-Xp weather radar, in combination with the weather and ATC above, I can avoid bad areas more realistically. And of course Ultimate Traffic fo AI environment, I'm down to about only 500 repaints still needed. Boy, do I need a life!Dave HChief Operating OfficerEagle Express Virtual Airlineswww.EagleExpressVA.com
