737NG flap position indicators on speed tape during takeoff

Featured Replies

I usually takeoff with flaps 5 on the 737NG. After rotation, the only flap/speed indicators I see on the speed tape are "1" and "up". About 10 kt below "1", I raise the flaps to "2" and immmediately the "2" appears on the speed tape.Is this normal behavior or a glitch (PMDG or my installation)? Thanks.

HiNormal behaviour. Flaps 2 is never used. Go from flaps 5 to flaps 1 immediately.Cheers,

Then why does "2" appear on the speed tape at all? Also, during landing, the "2" appears during flap deployment. If it is never used, why have it?

Nope that is the way it is on the real NG too! Like Mats stated you can go straight to flaps 1 the moment you reach V2+15 (white bug). As a side note flaps 1 is pretty much the norm for the 700 not flaps 5 but if it is wet or a shorter field 5 will be perfered. This is not the same for the 800-900....[h4]Best Wishes,Randy J.
