After reaching 143Kts V2, there isn't enough elevator to rotate. How do you increase the elevator travel? Also deploying full spoilers doesn't seem reduce the speed or altitude. How do you correct this problem? I assume it is changing parameters in the aircraft config file.ThanksDennis

Do you trim the elevator according to the value shown on the FMC takeoff page?Claudio

Hi,Some things to check:- Is the V2 correct according to your weight and the airport?- Do you trim according to your weight?- The speed brakes are working as they are supposed. It is a slippery bird this one. Planning your descent is crucial! No tweaking of aircraft.cfg is necessary. You have to check that the FMC is set up right though. And if unsure check against tables in the manual. ;-)Hope it helps,

I'm wondering if really no one else has this problem as well. I'm not able to lift off at VR. I'm still in the process to find out what the problem is but maybe someone can give advice. Here is what I'm doing:B737-700 with ZFW of 50'000 kg. Setting up the FMC and letting it calculate V1 and VR with Flaps 5 it recommends Trim set to 5.5. Everything ok so far but when I reach VR at takeoff I'm not able to rotate only at about 180 knots I take off! The rest of the flight and the landing is all normal. When I trim to 12 in the same configuration I'm able to rotate at VR. So it is very strange!Cheers,Andreas

Hi Andreas,You don't lift off at Vr. You rotate the a/c at Vr by starting to move the yoke towards you at V1. If this is done correctly the a/c will start to rotate at approx Vr and will lift off past V2. You then adjust your pitch to keep V2+20 during your initial climb out phase.Have you checked that you have the same units of weight in all instances i.e. both in FS settings and the PMDG|737N|Styles settings? How do you enter your weight into the CDU? Do you do it manually or do you let the simulator get the ZFW with just clicking on the ZFW LSK with nothing in the scratchpad?Hope it helps,

Something else you might check is that on your yoke/stick that the roller is in the canter and that it is calibrated correctly.

One more note on the calibration:Make sure that you reset the sensitivity setting for the joystick in FS9 sensitivity page, because that's notorious for causing problems. Also, if you have FSUIPC registered, you can change the response in the joystick page in FSUIPC.

Hi MatsMaybe my writing was not very precise. But the problem still exists. I can't rotate at VR unless I trim the plane instead of 5.5 (in my example) to about 10. There is an ongoing thread on a Swiss flight forum and so far about 4 users reported the same problem. So I think it's strange that no one here is having that problem. So far I didn't have time to experiment with different settings or reinstallation of either FS9 or PMDG.I'll keep this forum posted about anything I might find out.-Andreas

Are you setting up the FMC PERF INIT page correctly? Do you manually ENTER a ZFW or GW or let the FMC do it for you? Have you CHANGED any weights on the aircraft CFG file? [h4]Best Wishes,Randy J. "You don't lift off at Vr. You rotate the a/c at Vr by starting to move the yoke towards you at V1"this may be required in the PMDG NG, but you definetely don't start pulling anything at V1! Don't get used to this technique, its not safe and you run a very high risk of getting a tailstrike! This procedure is very unrealistic to say the least.Regards,Mark

I'm with you Mark! This is NOT what I tell folks either or what PMDG is advocating?? VR is VR and this is when one starts to not prior to even in this sim..[h4]Best Wishes,Randy J. Yeah guys, you might be right, I was refering to something written by Tero and Gary (RESET MCP ALT) a while ago and this was probably not related to the NG, probably the 767 or the 757. ;-)Cheers,

I can never take off or even rotate until about v2 + 10 or so. I heard a lot about this before the 800/900 release, but haven't fixed it, so I am currently living with it - as far as I know, if it works for most but doesn't work for me, it won't be fixed for me ;) It certainly would be good to be able to rotate at the right speed however. It happened with my old joystick and my new CH Yoke, so maybe a setting :|Cheers,Geoffrey BaleanCanberra, AU (YSCB)http://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004proudsupporter.jpg http://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/800driver.jpg"Today is the tomorrow you worried about yesterday. Let me just add:On no Boeing/Airbus jet aircraft do you start pulling the yoke/sidestick at V1. There are just too many hazards associated with it! Apart from the tailstrike, what if you had an engine failure after V1 but before Vr, you'd be pulling away on the stick and you might even lift off prior to Vr, but your angle of attack would be critical and the acceleration from the remaining engines wouldn't be enough to increase speed. As soon as the ground effect wears off - you're dead!So please, pull at Vr, not later nor sooner!Regards,Mark

I fill in the Performance Init page correctly. I even click on ZFW to get it filled in automatically instead of filling it in manually. So, there is nothing wrong. Also flap setting in the FMC is reflecting the true setting of the flaps.I did a few tests with other planes (with the -900 instead of the -700) and there I was able to rotate almost exactly at VR! I just remember that when I encountered the problem in the 737-700 I used a previously saved situation. So I'm going to use that situation one more time tonight to see if the problem is coming back. Maybe this has an impact on the overall behaviour of the airplane as I was reading somewhere that it is best to always create a new flight instead of using a saved situations...-Andreas
