TCAS in 736/7

Featured Replies

Maybe I overlooked it in the forum and in the docs, but is the TCAS only functional in the 800/900 series and not the 600/700 series? Thanx!-Rick

Well that depends upon your meaning Rick. If you are asking if current owners of the 600-700 series can have TCAS as an add-on by itself than no. If on the other hand you mean that current owners up-grade to the 800-900 series if their 600-700s will be updated with TCAS then yes. With purchase of the 800-900 package your current planes will get noew cockpits and TCAS. There is also a patch comming for the VCs in the 600-700 for the ability to have all the functions currently on the 800-900 VCs.[h4]Best Wishes,Randy J. I have the 600/700 series and not the 800/900 series. Altho the switches and buttons work for the TCAS, nothing shows up on the screen. Is it not fully functional in the 600/700 series? THAT is what I was asking.-Rick

No, TCAS is completely INOP in the 600/700 product (without the 800/900 upgrade).Lee Hetherington, PP-ASEL (KBED)

Rick,You clarified with a more confusing question I'm afraid. Randy said it all in your quoted extract of his post.Basically, if you have the 600/700 AND upgrade to the 800/900, you will have TCAS in the 600/700.Gary

I'd wish not to upgrade to 800/900 until I'm really satisfied and fullly operational with the 600/700 series. I'm learning a lot , having bought it some days ago. Am I a good proby ? :-lol If this patch will come soon, I'll wait for it not buying the upgrade. Thanks in advance.

Bad news...:-( Okay...going to buy the 800/900 stuff...:-smile12

Am very pleased with the -600/700 (be even happier if the TCAS worked as Im fed up with near misses from Artificial (UN)intelligent aircraft and fed up with being forced to buy things I dont want/need. Nothing like forcing more sales eh.
