May 16, 200422 yr Just curious about what type of FPS people get in fs? Here is me leaving KBFI in the B1900 spot view. I know the 737 is harder on FPS but just interested in a comparison from spot views ;-)http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/76170.jpgThis is from a fresh install last night. I just changed the default clouds everything else is default scenery wise. This is 1280x1024 32 bit. Not all sliders set to full. 4x AF no AA.[h4]Best Wishes,Randy J. May 16, 200422 yr Then I have a question about this: The sliders from FPS are standaard set to 20FPS/min. But what did you guys set?
May 16, 200422 yr Hellomay I ask where you got those clouds? I still have about the same FPS in the 800/900 as I do in the 600/700 about 15-20 and as most with other aircrafts I can get about 25-30.would love to get some more fps :-) best regardsJonas
May 16, 200422 yr Author AH not for me. I use to have them set at certain points like 25-30 etc but really now it just is so much better higher! If you cannot get 80 FPS then of course it's no use setting it to unlimited, best to see what you average and set it to that. If I was to set one I would choose 50 for myself.[h4]Best Wishes,Randy J. May 16, 200422 yr Author Those are the replacement clouds in the library. I think Chris willis? [h4]Best Wishes,Randy J. May 16, 200422 yr Not as good as yours though I have _all_ my settings at full running at 1280x1024x16 with 6xAA and 16xAF. Moving the smoothing settings down only gives me an extra 1-2 FPS so may as well have em high! :-)Intel P4 3.0GHz at 3.2GHz | Asus P4P800S | 768MB | ATI 9800XT | 17inch LCD Display
May 16, 200422 yr Author Not bad at all! I like quality too but since I do not have a great video card I sacrifce a certain amount of quality but really it still looks good to me. Hell I would be happy at 25 if it was smooth so I have room to play. I notice in RL it never looks so clear lol well at least in the bay area.[h4]Best Wishes,Randy J. May 16, 200422 yr What should I set in the sliders of FPS? I've a: P4 2.4GHz 512MB RAM, Geforce FX 5200 80GB harddrive?
May 16, 200422 yr 25 fps is enough for me... :-)1280x1024 32 bit(In flight FAJS - HDTA now btw)http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/76233.jpg
May 16, 200422 yr Randy,Why do you have your wing lights on in-flight? ;-)Cheers, Mats JohanssonPMDG Flight Test Dept | Asus Z270-A | Intel i5-7600K @ 4.8 GHz OC/H2O | nVidia Geforce GTX 1070 8GB OC/O2|
May 16, 200422 yr Talking about exterior lighting: Some airlines always have there winglights on and some only when it's dusk or dark. The same for strobes, some airlines putt them on prior to line-up at the RWY and some prior to pushback.
May 16, 200422 yr I get about 20 fps! Of course, that's because I set the maximum to that, so that computer power over what's required to achieve that would be allocated to keeping my scenery/mesh tack sharp. This is the old discussion over how much fps do you need, vs how to avoid blurry textures and how far out they remain sharp. Anyway, that's my strategy and it seems to work pretty well. Dick Bixler
May 16, 200422 yr SHOWOFF!!! :) :) :)Wierd thing only is that with default settings, there are no reflections and the scenery looks so crappy. Would you mind making a screenie with FS9.CFG file deleted, and only resolution changed?Anyway, two screenshots - 1) exactly how my scenery looks like when I normally fly, my default settings :)and 2) FS9.cfg deleted, resolution changed to 1280x1024 32 bit, full screen, 4x AF, no AA.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/76288.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/76289.jpg
