Will PMDG provide 737 Inertial nav before BBJ is released?

My mistake ClaudioLooks like you are right. The CIVA INS is using the default Heading Hold function in the FS A/P.I will still hold on to that the NG IRS is basically doing the same thing as this CIVA INS but without the NAV capabilities. But it would have been great if this system could have provided a position to FS based on acceleration and rotation wouldn't it? ;-)Cheers,

>But it would have been great if this system could have>provided a position to FS based on acceleration and rotation>wouldn't it? ;-)The system actually derives its position from acceleration and rotation, plus the initial reference position you enter after startup :)That's the beauty of it :)You can actually end many miles off course if you don't care to correct the derive of the gyros. It's just that it is meant as a standalone gauge, so the only way to actually fly the plane, is to act on the standard hdg hld facility.Which the pmdg dislikes luckily enough :)

Ten minutes is a short time.. usually takes me more than 20 minutes before getting to startup.Could easily let the INS spool up while checking up the charts and making final notes.Wouldn't matter me, it'd be a good feature

I have a hard time beleiving that modern glass cockpit airliners use the Delco Unit. In fact I know a pilot who was talking about a guy that bought an older aircraft (forget the make/modal etc.) that had the delco unit in it. Nobody in the area knew how to operate it. I told him about RFP which can use it. With RFP seting the thing up is a time consuming proccess, requires constant attension on long flights. Remmember, when the Delco unit was used in Airliners the crew generaly included a flight engineer.Seems to me if any Modern Airliners use INS it must be programed differently than the old Delco unit. Perhaps the FMS has inputs into the INS, dont really know!So I'ii drop it til I learn a bit about the newer INS systems.Regards
