FS Crashes during *ALL* 737NG flights

Featured Replies

I'm really exaust...I've tried all possible settings, changed graphic options on my PC and into FS9 , but still I'm not able to complete a flight with 737NG aircrafts (both 600-700 and 800-900).The incredible thing is that every time I get a black screen, a lot of activity from the disk, and the MS error window, and each time the error is different from the previous. I got errors from util.dll, panel.dll, 2d.dll, 3dgd.dll, and so on....These errors doesn't appear with other aircrafts. I've tried the same flights with other aircrafts (A320, Mad Dogs 80, and a 763) and the error doesn't occur.I've tried changing my AGP setting from 8X to 4X in the bios, but it was the same...At this point I'm asking for an help. What can I do ? Uninstall 737NG , and reinstall it ? Or trying to eliminate meshes and terrain add on? Or...anything else than reinstall FS2004 ...? Please let me know what you think... Thanks in advance, waiting for a kind reply.

Alberto,I hate to be the bearor of bad news, but none of those messages relate to anything PMDG installed. It appears to be a FS application crash unrelated to the PMDG 737. Why you only see it in PMDG may be related to the pressure the NG will add to your normal FS setup. It is possible you are seeing the FS Scenery crash related to seasonal textures, have you tried changing your season to Summer to see if that helps? You should also post your System specs as well. My initial recomendation based on what you posted is to clean install FS9 ensuring you delete the Saved flights and config files during the uninstall. Then reinstall FS9 and all your add ons with the PMDG 737 installed last. Paul, thank s for the reply. Obviosly that was thelast thing-to-do , but if it is necessary, I'll be clean install FS9 as you suggest.I had a lot of CTDs this winter, and I solved modifying the texture file, and avoiding to use winter season. But now , I get only normal Crashes , and probably it's time to cleanuu something...Will let you know. ;(

Interesting, I have had a similar problem recently, FS refusing to load after 737NG flights. I have been reluctant to blame 737NG but now I'm not so sure. For me the fix is to replace FS9.exe with a clean backup and a reboot. Doesen't happen after every flight but it has happened a number of times recently and always after 737NG flights. Bruce, and did the FS9.EXE restore fix the probllem (or better, do you still have crashes after having restored the file?).Thanks in advance.

Bruce, just curious, what OS are you running? I'm having a similar problem with FS2002 after PMDG flights.

Perhaps I,m mistaken? I think if you look at PMDG's website you will see that Win XP AND fs9 is required to run the 800-900 and by extension, the updated version of PMDG 600-700.Check it outGood Luck

Only the 800/900 is restricted to FS9 and XP not the 600/700. There's no extention.

HiI last did the FS9.exe restore 4 or 5 days ago and so far no more crashes except that after the last flight FS9 wouldn't shutdown properly. However after a system reboot FS9 started normally. I have been going through the PMDG tutorials for the past couple of weeks so have been flying the 737NG exclusively so this problem may or may not be related to the PMDG aircraft. I have an AMD 1900XP on an MSI board with 1024 ram and an nividia 4800SE. Very puzzling to be getting these errors in the absence of any change to my FS9 configuration.Bruce Bartlett

I know this is a strech! Once I installed fs9 on a new setup, I hadn't realized I forgot to install Media Player first, FS was crashing all over the place. So just a reminder, you have to have Media Player and DX 8-9 on your machine, else you will have problems much like what you describe. They should be present BEFORE installing FS9!Good LuckBuck Bolduc

Thank you very much for this heads up. This is a tweak I hadn't applied before and while it is a bit soon to give a definitive answer on the stability question it has led to very significant improvement in the performance of FS9 with the 737NG.Bruce Bartlett
