June 24, 200421 yr Mr speedrick, please use your real name on this forum sir, thank you very much. There is something indeed behind the ACARS function future wise. Mr Randazzo has mentioned this a while back. If you read the top post http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=136&topic_id=55661&mesg_id=55661&page= maybe one can assume we might get some more detailed information soon. This is only a GUESS on my part. Best Wishes,
Randy J. Smith

P M D G's 747-400

coming to a runway near you
Caution! June 24, 200421 yr Do Boeing 747s have ACARS? Or maybe just the newer ones (ER)? I had never herd of it before I started learning about the B777 and NG737 series. Cheers,RyanProfessional Coffee Drinker/BAe146 DriverAircraft Maintenance Engineer
June 24, 200421 yr Ryan,Most new airliners fitted with FMCs have some sort of datalink fitted or retrofitted. You can read about the Scandinavian Airlines ACARS system here http://www.sasflightops.com/. Choose the DAtalink menu on the left hand side. Very informative and thorough.Hope it helps, Mats JohanssonPMDG Flight Test Dept | Asus Z270-A | Intel i5-7600K @ 4.8 GHz OC/H2O | nVidia Geforce GTX 1070 8GB OC/O2|
