  1. There are many ways to achieve this. One is to simply reduce speed in the cruise. Reducing your ground speed until it shows that you'll cross at the correct time. Then simply increase speed to 250 when you cross the way-point. If you know the distance to run to the way point, you can calculate what ground speed you need. Another is adjusting the cost index in the FMC. This will change your CRZ/DES speeds for the flight plan. This is just another way of adjusting your speed en-route. Descending early can also help. You slow down the lower you go for a given IAS. But keep in mind that you also burn more fuel. So it's best to try and achieve this close to flight idle. Not my favorite option but can work if all else fails. If none of the above work.... Ask for vectors or en-route holding
  2. Without looking into the manuals. I don't know if this is modeled. But it could be something called "N1 Compensation". This being the case, the N1 "limit" is reduced as the engine actually makes the required thrust at a lower N1. (Newer Engine).
  3. You will need a little bit of into wind Aileron through out the whole Take-Off, the amount you need decreases as the speed increases. The idea is that you keep the wings in a level attitude and use the Rudder to counteract the Yaw effect.

Just suffered the same issue. Had to "repair install" the 777. Seems to be fine again...
  5. Try reinstalling the AIRAC.
  6. Wait for a strong head wind  Sad to say but today we were performance limited on a 7155' runway at MTOW!
  7. Thanks Edde and Kyle. That link explains that it's a known issue and will be in an OC update. I'll hang out till then. Also noticed it doesn't list the B747 as installed.
  8. Running windows 7 32bit and also have this issue. To me the "Ops Center" appears to only allow me to buy the aircraft I already have.
  9. Ah ok. Have you had a look at the sound settings in FSX? Maybe for some reason they were turned right down? Just nocking over the basics mate, not too sure why that would have happened.
  10. I am having the same issue. First "test" flight the aircraft wouldn't trim. Pressing the trim buttons on my joy stick (logitech Extreme 3D Pro) didn't trim the aircraft but did move the trim buttons on the control column, also the trim indicator didn't change at all. After a reset it appeared I could trim but still the indicator doesn't move; unless I use the ALT trim.
  11. G'Day There are no liveries with the base pack other than PMDG's own. I don't think they have released the Airline liveries as of yet... I couldn't find them anyways. PMDG plan on releasing a few of the B777 varients. But the 200LR base pack will be required to use the others,
  12. Check the Radio/Audio panel and make sure that panel looks like the picture on page 59 of the Introduction manual. The Comm #1 microphone and volume knob should be illuminated yellow.
  13. I'm running a 4 year old system with Windows 7 32bit. Runs but I think I'm going to have issues. I've only loaded the aircraft once, did a circuit and landed, FSX has used all my memory! Going to try a few tweaks and see if I can improve things (I only just discovered Ryan's post regarding Nvidia Inspector and a few other things. As far as as performance goes... it's as good if not better than the NGX. Very happy with it! (Other than the memory issue but that's my problem to sort out, ie buy W7 64!!)
  14. I hope everyone on the PMDG team has a holiday booked after this! You gents really do put in the hard yards! Love your work!
  15. Generally not in the real plane, but we do in the sim! Having said that, I've jump seated on a BAe146 post heavy maintenance flight where it was done.

RTOW charts are often produced by the company flying the aircraft or a 3rd party. It takes into account the manuals produced by Boeing and also the particular runway in question.
  17. Having flown almost 300 hours in the real version, I can say that the rear engine does run hotter but not to the point where you have to nurse it. Different story if you forget to open the cowl flaps!!
  18. It's the same on the DHC8. We have to confirm that "Alt Sel" is selected after changing the assigned level. Depends on the situation as to whether it's required. For instance during a GNSS RNAV approach, it isn't selected when we change the assigned level to the missed approach altitude. This is because if we press "Alt Sel", it will attempt to level out at that level rather than contine down to the MDA. (if we are higher than the missed approach alt). Very easily forgotten and I've seen many pilots press it when it's already selected, in which case it cancels the alt capture and if the crew isn't paying attention.... straight though the assigned level.
  19. Not sure about other Boeings but I wound find it hard to believe that they didn't have a similar feature. The B717 was able to bring up the engine data on the FMS which included total engine running hours since new/reset. This was a plug attached to the EEC of the engine. Same with the APU.

Depends on the size of the chock...
  21. By "Climb power" do you mean the engines are rolling back towards flight idle?
  22. Keep in mind that OAT, TAT and SAT are three different figures. Each would be different if placed on the same aircraft.
  23. What sort of symptoms were you getting that led to an impending graphics card failure? I ask as I have the same card.
  24. G'Day everyone Thought this was an interesting way of tracking to an airport! I just did a quick flight in the J41, setup a flight between Canberra direct to Tamworth at FL160. I use Active Sky Evolution. Once I departed, I engaged the autopilot to intercept the track and off I went (using LNAV on the EHSI and NAV on the autopilot). During the cruise, I was doing some other things on the computer, and came back to notice the DME and VOR indicating I was well to the west of the desired track. Opened the map which confirmed the weird deviation. The wind was 060/15. Anyone seen this before? Not overly fussed, just though some might get a laugh at this.
