I am considering the move to P3d but do most all of my flying on Vatsim. I can not find any videos of P3d and vatsim and I am wondering if it is normally compatible?

Hello, I'm planning to buy T7 because it's a great plane, am i wrong ? Question: -It's too expensive for me ($90 = 210 Turkish Lira. Almost 1/4 of minimum wage in Turkey). Can i buy it with my partner? I meant can we combine our moneys $40 by $40 then activate it in both of our computers? As I heard, we can activate it in 2 computers at the same time. If so, does the same techic work for 300er update? Thanks!

Hello all, I just recently got a new computer with Windows 10. The graphics and the sim are running great, but there is one problem. I have tried running a 15 hour flight, and will fly for an hour, and then set the autopilot. Because of the flight being so long, I turn off the monitor of my desktop, and then let the sim run for eight hours when I go to bed, before waking up and checking the flight and then landing it when it is time. I have tried this flight 4 times, and each time I have woken up, checked the flight sim and found the computer’s home screen on the screen. I can still click on the FSX icon, and it brings me to the flight, but it will be paused for multiple hours. This only started once I got a new computer a few weeks ago with WIndows 10. I used to have a computer with Windows 7, and this did not happen. Does anyone know what I can do to fix FSX from going to the home screen mid-flight? Thanks for any help!

Hey all, I'm relatively new to the world of flight and aviation, so my knowledge is fairly limited. I recently picked up FS9 and the iFly 737 addon, and while I'm making progress, I still have a long way to go. I had a couple of questions pertaining to the descent procedure in general terms, and less specific to the iFly. 1.) How does one determine the transition level? I understand that in the US it's FL180. However I'm currently working on the tutorial flight for the iFly, which runs from YSSY to YMML. They give you the transition altitude early in the tutorial, but they do not specify the transition level for descent. How does one determine this? 2.) Upon reaching that transition level, one must reset their altimeter to whatever it is for that area. How does one determine what to set that altimeter to? I understand that the standard is 29.92, and that's what's given in the tutorial flight, but I'm attempting the tutorial with weather from Active Sky Evolution, so the altimeters won't be standard, I believe. Should I look at the current numbers for Melbourne, where I'm landing, or is there another way of obtaining this? 3.) The tutorial also references radio altitude and barometric altitude in order to set minimums, however it doesn't specify which to use, nor does it give you the needed value. It's my understanding that the radio altimeter is used for CAT II and CAT III landings, while the barometric altimeter is used for CAT I landings. How does one determine whether the runway they're landing on is CAT I, II, or III, and furthermore, how does one then set their minimums? (barometric altitude for CAT I, of course, and the radio altitude for CAT II and III.) 4.) Lastly, the tutorial makes reference to engaging VOR/LOC hold, but it doesn't specify when to engage it. I'm currently flying without traffic and ATC while I get familiarized with the aircraft, and I realize that approaches will vary when ATC is enabled... so that will be another thing to learn down the road. But for the time being, I simply want to get comfortable with the plane itself, and flying a plan (with SIDs and STARs) via the CDU. When should I engage the VOR/LOC hold switch? Newbie here, Maybe someone can help. I am having issues with loading this add on and populating the right folders or locations in the FSX root tree directory for this to work. Hi everybody! This is my first post, so take it easy please... I recently bought the NGX and I am pleased to say that it is simply mind blowing!!! Every single switch and knob can be pressed and turned, the paint in the cockpit has been chipped off and dust covers the FMC, and then there's that sound.... Anyway enough stating the obvious, how do I turn on the HUD? I click it, but it just comes down, but the fighter-jet like green diagrams don't appear?.. What am I doing wrong? I certainly hope it's not an issue with the airplane...

recently fsx has been very laggy i dont really think its always been like that, what could be the problem? it lags even when i try lowering some of the settings. i have a fairly mid-high end laptop: DELL INSPIRON 15R SE windows 8.1 64bit intel 3632qm 2.2-3.2ghz 8gb ram radeon hd 7730m

Hi Everyone. Am new to this forum. I have some questions, & I hope they can be answered. Here goes - 1.) I realize this may be a stretch, but I'll ask anyway. I lost my computer & all of my flight sim gear due to the NE floods in 2011. The only computer I can use right now is a back-up that a friend was able to give me. Its a 2.7 dual-core AMD w/ 8gb of RAM, and a GeForce 9800 GT vcard. I think I already know the answer, but is this good enuf to fly with? If so, which sim would be better to have, FSX or X-plane? If not, would it be good enuf to use for an older version flight sim such as FS 2004 or 2009? 2.) I have to buy a new stick & throttle. Any ideas where I can find an affordable unit & which would be best. I don't have a lot of xtra cash for this. I used to have a Thrustmaster F-16 HOTAS unit. 3.) Does FSX, X-plane, or any other sim have a version of the Gulfstream G-150 that can be flown? I love that aircraft, but haven't seen it on flight sim vids anywhere. I really want to get flying again. I miss it terribly. So any info on these matters would be greatly appreciated. Will check back periodically to see what advice i get. Thanx in advance. Hammer308, out.

Hi, i´d like to know until which speed i should set ailerons into the wind on a, let´s say, 20 knots crosswind. I think it should be until 100 knots ground speed on landing, and from 120 kts on takeoff. Thanks!! tatin

Hello to everyone, I bought the PMDG 777 on 08 february 2015 on the site http://www.precisionmanuals.com/index.html I have only Flight Simulator X Steam Edition on my computer. I never had any other version of Flight Simulator on my computer. When I install the PMDG 777 installation goes well. But when I go to Flight Simulator and I select the PMDG 777 nothing is clickable in the Cockpit! And when I put the view outside the aircraft's wheels are not displayed I am surprised that during and even after the PMDG 777 installation does not ask me my activation code that is normal? I have my activation code on the email that PMDG sent me. I uninstalled and reinstalled once administrator once standard. I really do not understand. All my drivers are updated. I even reinstalled windows and it is always the same. I said that all my others aicraft works perfectly ! Can you help me please because I am lost. I Thank You in advance. Aviator380

Hi guys, Sorry if this has been asked before. I've recently ripped apart a xbox360 wired controller and decide to make a switch panel using all the circuitry involved in the controller, all is looking good. My plan is to start with Cessna 172 but how do can i program the switches. I havent got all my resistors yet, so i haven't started trying. I was thinking of FSUIPC but it appears not all of the switches ie (Beacon Land Taxi Nav Strobe Pitot & Fuel Pump) are listed. Is there any way i can do this (maybe LINDA)? Thanks

Hey all, two-time thread poster here! I'm currently new to the flight-sim world, so I have a lot to learn. I'm trying to figure out what flight simulator to purchase, how to run it on my machine, and what addons I should supplement the aforementioned flight sim with. My computer (laptop, rather), is pretty limited, relatively speaking of course. I'm currently using a mid-2012 Macbook Pro, and plan on running FSX (or another flight sim of choice) via Windows 7 64 bit, which I will use w/ Bootcamp. As for the specs on my computer, they go as follows... Processor: 2.3 GHz Intel Core i7 Memory: 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3 Graphics: Intel HD Graphics 4000 1024 MB Soooo... obviously, my machine, while not entirely worthless, is on the lower end. From doing some reading, and having played the FSX demo, I think my computer CAN handle it, although not ideally. I did manage to run the trial at max settings and averaged between 15-20 FPS. What I plan to do is buy a SATA III SSD, and connect it externally via a USB 3.0 adapter. From what I've read and researched this should work and allow the game to function based on reports from others who have done the same. Obviously it's not as ideal as running the game with a higher end rig, but it should suffice. Where I'm going with this is that I need to figure out what simulator to purchase. I was dead set on FSX, primarily due to the various addons and PMDG's support. However, I was informed about P3D and X Plane 10 earlier today. XP10 seems to be the most realistic simulation in terms of how the aircraft moves and handles, however it lacks in terms of addon support. Meanwhile, FSX and P3D are more geared towards providing an immersive experience and are addon friendly. FSX, also, is a finished and done product that will no longer be receiving support from MS. P3D, on the other hand, should be actively receiving updates. Unfortunately, no PMDG aircraft are totally supported by P3D yet, so that may be an issue. With the above in mind, I'm leaning towards the latter two over XP10, however I did want to consult with you guys and get your thoughts. I'm looking for an immersive, entirely realistic experience, but more importantly, a game that my machine can adequately handle and run. I realize that it ultimately comes down to personal preference, but based on what I described to you guys above, do you have any thoughts and/or recommendations on my situation, and what are your thoughts on what direction I should go in? If there's an alternative that I'm overlooking, please do tell! My tech knowledge, much like my flight-sim knowledge, is somewhat limited. I'm not a total bum, but I'm no genius, either, so any/all feedback is MUCH appreciated! Again, my apologies for the long-winded question(s)... just trying to figure everything out.

Afternoon everyone. I would like to ask the frequent flyers of the PMDG 777 a brief question about approach flap selection. Yesterday, I was just about to start my approach into Frankfurt. I selected flaps 20 in the FMS and verified the selection when I went through the landing checklist on final. However, just a few hundred feet above the ground, the GPWS began to shout at me, "Too low! Flaps!" Of course, this warning prevented the altitude callouts and my landing was quite rough. I've never had this issue when using flaps 25 or 30. Is this a bug or have I missed something?

I am thinking about going to P3D. I have searched the forum and from what I can see you must pay for the updates. I do not see any kind of prices. ($10, $50, etc.) Can anyone help? Does the update price change with the different license? How often does LM update?

I was trying to make a flight from VHHH to KORD, with FL400. In the VNAV tab, it shows the max altitude is only FL346. My question is what determines the max altitude in a flight? I have noticed that at different points in the flight the VNAV Max Alt increases, but why can't I climb to a cruising ALT of FL400 straight from the get-go? I hope you can give me some insight. I have a question about a freeware aircraft I downloaded from the AVSIM library, but I'm not sure where to post it. I notice a lot of freeware support forums, but they seem to be for specific types or brands of freeware, and my question comes more under "Miscellaneous Freeware" or "Other Freeware", for which there does not appear to be a forum. Essentially, I downloaded the Boeing 717-200 by David Robles, and can't get the SFX panel to work. The switches are operational, but no sound plays, and when I mouse over them, I get "File Not Found", even though I do have the required sound files and have installed them in the main "Sound" folder. So where specifically can I ask about this, please? Many thanks in advance for your help.

Hello all, I'm in the process of planning an IFR flight from KATL to KFLL. In the route that I obtained from FlightAware (shown below), there is a short section where, according to the semicircular rule, I should be cruising at a different altitude. I'm wondering how this situation might be handled in the real world. Would a plane be asked to change their altitude after a turn in order to remain in constant compliance with the semicircular rule?
