Hello all. I just finished my sim pit and am working now at setting it up and fixing all the small issues, but one has me puzzled. I have a Saitek multi panel with the flap switch connected to a powered usb hub and am setting up the A2A 172. Just using SPAD and not FSUIPC, which I do have the registered version, it worked the first time I tried, but would only go from 10-20 degrees, and once in maybe 10-15 tries to 30, but never to zero. I saw that FSUIPC seemed to have a way to set up flaps under Joystick Controls, but it seemed confusing so I avoided it. I tried to set up through FSUIPC Axis and Keystrokes, but it wouldn't recognize the flap switch. I got into SPAD and set the switch to keypress mode, or whatever, and assigned the standard F6 and F7 keys. I also went into FSX and deleted any other buttons that were set to these keys. It worked perfectly! 0-30 degrees any time I wanted. I reloaded the aircraft so I could show my father that it was working. I went to use flaps and nothing happened at all. I went back through, checked my settings, reset my settings and fiddled a ton. I cannot for the life of me get it to respond. Anyone know what the heck could be going on? I will keep fiddling for now. One more thing. I have the Saitek radio, multi panel and switch panel all on a powered usb hub. SPAD recognizes the radio and multi panel every time and allows me to make my adjustments, while SPAD doesn't say anything about a switch panel being connected in the upper left corner. Should it be showing up? Shouldn't it show up so I can make adjustment through SPAD. When I got it a few weeks ago I tested it to make sure it wasn't damaged and the starter knob and more than half the switches worked without changing or setting up anything. Should I try a different usb port? I have no Saitek drivers and I jiggled and unplugged and replugged usb's but it didn't do anything. Any help is great. Thank you.

Hello all. Finished my sim pit, but having a funny problem. Not setting up SPAD at all the flaps switch would move flaps on A2A 172 between 10 and 20 degrees only, not 0 or 30. When setting it for key presses it works perfectly, but only for one flight. Any reset or change or turning off computer or changing weather or anything and it doesn't not work. I have "unset" other things that could effect it, like multiple buttons controlling the same action and have tried to make sure FSUIPC and FSX were not clashing. Also checked to make sure I was on the right SPAD profile and that it was still set up the same. What is going on? Do I need to uninstall and then reinstall something? I updated A2A 172.

I will appreciate if someone can help me to know how I can see in a reply flight the secuence of reverse thrust, flaps, speed brakes, etc. because the reply does not show me those steps in my beautiful 737-800 NGX, as occurrs in different add-ons that I use from time to time. Thanks a lot, friends. Oscar

Afternoon everyone. I would like to ask the frequent flyers of the PMDG 777 a brief question about approach flap selection. Yesterday, I was just about to start my approach into Frankfurt. I selected flaps 20 in the FMS and verified the selection when I went through the landing checklist on final. However, just a few hundred feet above the ground, the GPWS began to shout at me, "Too low! Flaps!" Of course, this warning prevented the altitude callouts and my landing was quite rough. I've never had this issue when using flaps 25 or 30. Is this a bug or have I missed something?

Good Morning fellow pilots, I am here this morning in seeking advice on decelerating in the PMDG 777-200LR. I am currently aware that you need to use speed intervention in order to get the plane to slow to final approach speed. However, I am unsure about what altitude to do this at, or what distance from the runway I should be at and be configured for landing. I have read a chapter in the FCTM about decelerating but it did not answer my question. Thank you in advance for your insightful answers.

I cant find where the cutout switch is for the annoying warning horn for the "landing gear not down" situation if you have flaps 15 or more selected. Sometimes I would find it conveniate to silence the alarm. FCOM just says that it can be silenced by pressing the cutout switch but could someone point out exactly where in the cocpit can I find the button/switch? :)

Hi, I am considering buying fsx (I am an x-plane a really excited user) However, I do not have a joystick and I dont have the space or cash to buy a good or even a decent one. Therefore I was wondering whether you could control FSX using the ipad/iphone - i.e. an x-plane remote equivalent for fsx? I heard about a couple of apps but I will like to voice my concerns: FSXControl - Very laggy, bad design (+thrust/-thrust buttons - why not have a slider), and no AP control! AirTrack - No flaps/gear/thrust control These are the only two that seem remotely (pun intended) decent. Which one should I choose? I am currently thinking of getting airtrack but I want to know if you can control thrust and gear and all that before shelling out £17 on it. If you can help me - PLEASE reply! Thanks!

Hi, I am new here. I am very experienced in FSX, landed using the ILS approach hundreds of times without any problems. However, after I added some add-on scenery using Airport Design Editor X (to fix ILS offsets), everytime I am established on the localizer (starting to descent automatically), I get a continous irritating beeping warning (is it the flap warning?), after setting flaps to full, lowering the gear and reducing airspeed to 150 knots (using the stock 747). Then when I am very close to the runway, I get a "too low terrain" warning and it hovers above the runway for a while before landing. As it lands, I cannot use the reverse thrust (the keyboard is assigned, tested it before take-off) but only the spoilers. Worse still, the beeping noise is still present, even at 0 speed with parking brake on! Please help! I think there might be a corrupted file in the directory, but how to fix it??? Thanks in advance!

Hello All, I'm a little confused as to the best flaps setting for landing this bird. The sample flight tutorial says to land with flaps 15, and this in my opinion is the most stable flaps setting for landing. When I try landing with flaps 35 she becomes very difficult to control, particularly with the speed. In real operations, do pilots land with flaps 15 or 35? Thanks very much, James

I was about to render a video with FSR when I noticed the flaps aren't moving at all during the playback. I checked all the tickboxes before recording the replay, however, neither the flaps nor the flap lever seem to be working. I had a look at the data window, and the flap setting value there does change as the plane nears the airport. It appears that the flap positions (and probably the flap lever position as well, although that can't be seen in the data window) have been recorded but FSR somehow fails to get the information through to the plane at playback. I find that strange because all that is required to extend the flaps, be it during actual simulation or during a replay, is a press of the "flaps extend incrementally" button (Which FSR is obviously capable of doing). I actually tried extending them manually during the replay and they worked just fine. I saved a panel state at the point at which I wanted to start recording. I tried loading that state immediately after starting the playback but it made no difference. I've seen tons of NGX videos in which the flaps are working just fine, so I'm wondering - is this caused by the plane not being compatible with FSRecorder or does FSR itself have some kind of bug that screws up the replay? Do I have to keep an eye on the data window and extend the flaps manually as the position value changes? I am using FSX SP2 (Acceleration) and FSR 2.181 Alpha. ~CK

Hi folks, I have one question, why are the animations in the cockpit and on the wingview especially so choppy? For example the deployment of the speedbrakes is choppy either. Is there any way to solve this kind of issue? The trimwheels in the cockpit seems to be very choppy and not smooth enough as on the real Boeing 737 NG aircraft!!!! The flaps deployment is also not very smooth enough. Beside that, it is a really great addon for FSX. Thanks in advance. With kind regards, Tom Pls. Checkthis video out!!! Btw I have 50 fps locked! I tried also with 30 fps locked, but the problem is the same... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kAawDJDX6kM Hope it will be better in the upcoming release of the B777!!! :-) I mean the deployment of the spoilerons should be smooth as silk, like on this clip, or not? On the NGX is way more choppy. The shown aircraft addon is the Airbus Extended from Aerosoft. Thx guys.

Hey Guys, I recently purchased the 737NGX 800/900 and I'm amazed by it! Everything is running as well as I had expected and more! However, one thing really bugs me, and that is the wing animations being so segmented. For example, when landing the aircraft, as the speed brakes deploy, the movement is almost like a "slide show" as the spoilers go up, instead of a smooth, continuous motion. This same problem is seen with aerilon movement, flap deployment and wing flex. Its letting my FSX and 737 experience down a bit, as I usually average 30 - 50fps in even the most built up areas, so to see such a "lagged" effect on the aircraft looks pretty horrible compared to the rest of the sim... Any advice on how to improve this? Cheers, Carl

Hi. Almost every time I start my descent as programmed/calculated by the vnav, I end up way too high and/or too fast for my approach and I have to circle several times to set up for a stable approach and landing. I always have to use a lot of speedbrakes also. I know somebody will reply that I should input winds to the fmc as it matters if I have tailwind but the problem seems to be every time. And its not every time I have tailwind, sometimes headwind etc. Is the vertical flight path calculation realistic on the ngx? Any suggestions? My autothrottle seems to idle on the descent (it says "arm" and end up about 40% N1), that should be correct? Thank u!

Hi, I recently bought the Thrustmaster tca quadrant and so far it works really smooth. Only one problem. Since I started using the quadrant at random times, the flaps and spoilers go to full without me doing anything. Also when that happens, the plane instantly goes to a really low speed like 118 kts. It happens with every plane and I have no idea what triggers it or how to fix it. Any idea what I can do? PS: I only have the throttle and the sidestick, I don’t have the flaps and spoilers add-on.
