How to become a Beta tester??

Featured Replies

I suppose a sensible answer to my orginal question would be too much to hope for??James Stevensonhttp://www.virtualaviation.co.uk

Lol James. The sensible answer would be that your chances of becoming a beta tester are very slim because there are millions of people who are flight sim junkies. I thought I was bad but there are worse. Every flight sim junkie in the world and his dog would love to be a beta tester. The truth is, the companies that develop these products already have a team selected when they start. PSS had a position for a beta tester when, tragically, one of their original testers was involved in a tragic hang gliding accident and passed away. Usually, companies will advertise for it on forums such as this and they select a tester based on their real world flying experience.Almost like applying for a job as a pilot for an airline. After all, they aim for realism. If you do apply for one, don't hold your breath. They usually get airline Captains with thousands of hours of flying under their belt.Of course, there is always an exception to that rule.Goran

There certainly are exceptions to that rule Goran. You see, pilots are very good at what they do and hard core simmers are good at what they do, both are needed as well as your average Joe pilot simmer. Each looks at the product in their own unique ways and contribute such to give a fully tested product. So it helps to know about the aircraft you will be testing BUT as important is input from simmers who never flew a Jet in FS, the logic here is that sometimes the "Pros" overlook the simple items ;-) Best Wishes,[h4]Randy J.
