Geezer Guide Ver5 + Checklists

Featured Replies

I have just rewritten the GG on the basis of a lot of constructive and positive feedback which is much appreciated. Thank You All.I have also added a set of Checklists for your use.Get Ver5+Checklists at :http://homepage.powerup.com.au/~speedy/Hope this helps you enjoy your simming experience all the more and I thoroughly recommend flying online with VATSIM as well as it adds a lot to the 'Immersion Factor' or realism of your flying.Rgds,

Enjoying your latest update. One question for any of you. When taking off from runway 20, the ND shows a 180 degree right turn. When the aircraft takes off, it does a 180 degree left turn? Any ideas?

Just great!!!! I speciali like the checklist.thanks,

And just when I'd printed off version 4 ..... :D

Actually Brad. thanks.I have a question;Once the localiser is captured (and even glideslope capture), what is the procedure for a missed approach?Should LNAV (and VNAV) be selected before TOGA? In this instance, will the FMC automatically jump to the missed approach commands relating to the approach? If flying the approach manually, would you deselect the AP switch/ Pull the bar or merely disconnect the respective V and L modes? Once again (with a hand flown approach), if you wish to revert to an FMC missed approach, is it a question of selecting LNAV, VNAV and AUTOTHROTTLE before selecting TOGA?I'd be grateful for your guidance. I was flying a manual approach into a socked in Wellington today and upon reselecting LNAV, it attempted to turn me back to a fix further up the approach - ie it had "missed" the fact that we were through that point.Cheers

Thanks a lot for sharing your knowledge with all the rest of us Brad, very much appreciated! All the best,

If you are in Autoland you just press the TO/GA switch (upper left screw on the MCP) and the aircraft fly's the vertical profile automaticaly, you only have to select flaps 15, then the gear up and then the rest of the flaps on schedule. Switch LNAV on as soon as possible, mostly it's done after pressing TO/GA switches. If you are in a manual landing (single CH) you have to press the TO/GA aswell but this time you hear the autopilot disconnect warning and the only thing you have to do is switch on LNAV, select flaps 15, gear up and then the rest of the flaps on schedule. As soon as TO/GA mode turns of you can eather go to VNAV mode is you have any SPD restriction in the Missed approach procedure or switch to FLCH, then ingage the AP and it fly's the missed approach automaticaly. Then you can select a new approach procedure in the DEP/ARR page and hope that you can land saftly this time.Hope it helps,

Thanks Ramon

DaveIt's just a regular Word document - shouldn't be a problem.Try rightclicking and saving. then open it with Word - assuming you have Word!Regards

Dave,If you don't have Word, the built-in Wordpad in XP will work equally good to open the file.Cheers,

Brad "Zapper" Marsh is the 737NG King!THANK YOU!Best RegardsBoone,[email protected]"Flying a plane is no different from riding a bicycle. It's just a lot harder to put baseball cards in the spokes."

I emailed Brad a PDF conversion this week, maybe he might put it on his site, for those without Word.He said I was free to distribute it if I wished, so assuming this still stands I have temporarily put it here:http://campbell-multimedia.co.uk/fs-stuff/I can't vouch for the format of the conversion, so it might be a bit out.**EDIT** possibly an HTML version to be loaded into the Kneeboard in Fs2004 might go down well, any thoughts?

Thanks for this, most appreciated!
