August 2, 200421 yr Dear All,May I humbly suggest that before claiming there is a bug or an error in the sim that you spend just a few moments doing a couple of searches of this forum to ensure the issue you have has not already been addressed. The developers, the guys that write the tutorials and many of the highly informed users of PMDG sims spend a lot of time answering questions that have already been answered, sometimes on numerous occassions. There are excellent tutorials and manuals available as well. As one of the guys who answers a few questions I ask that you do this so that we might all better use our time to help all simmers. I know it is often easier to just start a new thread with your particular problem but it will help both you and everyone else to get the best out of this wonderful sim and the resource that AVSIM so kindly provide if you simply do a little research first. The archive part of this forum is an invaluable aid.I get a great deal of personal satisfaction from sharing my passion for flying with people not quite as lucky as I. My aim is to help them get as close as possible to flying the real aeroplane through this sim and it still amazes me at the depth of the technical and operational knowledge of the people who frequent this forum. The aim of this post is to get the best out this sim and forum experience for everyone. As always, if you have a question then all you have to do is ask :)Regards,

August 2, 200421 yr BradIsn't there already a thread saying the same thing??:)On a serious point - there wouldn't be so much of a problem with this if someone would only post an FAQ post. Come on, lets do it. Think of how many spoiler enqiries could be answered ..........It's so simple - it's brilliant!

August 9, 200421 yr Man, that would be one long faq. There are certainly some basics things to cover in it, but with the huge number of different system configurations, add-on scenery, weather, and aircraft out there, and also the wonderfully high complexity in in the 73xNG, I think this faq would be hard and probably wouldn't reduce the post count much. I would however like to see a sticky post titled: "Before Asking for help, have you:" and then listing the various suggestions that are repeated ad infinitum.P.S. Sat next to a young lady pilot coming home to EWR from CVG last night. We were in a Delta 738 and I really wanted to talk to her about the intricacies of a dual-channel autoland. Unfortunately, she had just had a family medical emergency and I got the "shut up, please don't talk to me" response. Usually, my charm works better than that! I hope everything was ok with her.
August 10, 200421 yr "Isn't there already a thread saying the same thing??"LOL.... Been there.... said that....usually when I'd seen the same question posted yesterday... and the day before that... and the day before that... and the day before that.....It's easy to do a search... IF you know the key words to use... but to know the right key words, you usually have to have to have read all the forum messages for the last 6 months. Catch 22.I've found that if you're tired of answering the same ol' questions... simply let someone else answer it for a change ;-)Cheers.Ian.
