Flight altitude question

I understand that pilots fly even or odd altitudes when flying either East or West. Is this true and if so which is it? lolAlso, does North or South have any meaning to altitude values?Thanks,Waldo

East-Even / West-OddBut in Italy, Switzerland, France, Spain, Portugal and Chile (there are for sure sone more) you fly an ODD level flying south- and an EVEN level flying North-bound routes. Bye, Luca
