September 4, 200421 yr I have searched for this subject here on the forum but I did not get any resluts. So, will the 747-400's model have flexing wings? Byron Toby
September 4, 200421 yr I asked that question a while back, and I don't think I got an answer. That would be very neat, although I'm not sure how much wingflex there is on the whale due to the 4 engine configuration and the extra nacelle weight.
September 4, 200421 yr Commercial Member Sure.. why not..Best,Vin ScimonePMDGwww.precisionmanuals.comhttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/devteam.jpg Vin Scimone Precision Manuals Development Group www.precisionmanuals.com
September 4, 200421 yr Would it also be possible to let the wings bend down on the ground due to fuel weight? Wouldn't that be great?Cheers,Ian Udingahttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/800driver.jpg
September 4, 200421 yr >Sure.. why not..>>Best,>>Vin Scimone>PMDGI really hope you are not being sarcastic... :+And Zip, have you ever seen 744s? Their wings flex like they want to break! Byron Toby
September 5, 200421 yr Truste me, Vin wouldn't kid about wing flex ;-)Best Wishes,
Randy J. Smith
http://www.rawbw.com/~bdoolin/shinault/Animation1.gifCaution! September 5, 200421 yr I cannot imaging pmdg not adding this feature. When I travelled on a 744 2 years ago or so, i thought they were going to break :-eek Brent Lewis
September 5, 200421 yr Hey All, Now even though the wing flex is a pretty neat thing to have, we still have to accept the fact that it's been pretty unrealistic in FS, I mean all they do is to flex when you take off, and then go to the first position as soon as you touch down, as far as I've experienced ... But in the real world, its very different, and dependant on many different things..All of us have seen what they do in the turbulent air, and they do it in their own smooth way; the wing flex is also dependant on the fuel weight, which tanks are holding the fuel, gross weight, flight level, and many other things, as far as I know... And again, they are very smooth. Now I understand how hard it is to just design the old fashion FS wing flex, and not trying to question PMDG's great job, but I would really like to ask PMDG how the wing flex is designed? The old fashion FS way or the more complicated dependant way? Thank you all ValaPS. I wasn't talking about the 2 position design for wing flex.
September 5, 200421 yr I have seen some PC aircraft with wingflex. Some better that others. It is a bit diconserting if it,s not donr properly, like spaces appearing on the bottom of the wing etc.If it can be done properly PMDG will most likely do it.But your right, many factors involved to do it perfectlyBest
September 5, 200421 yr Ok, so it flexes quite a bit.I was thinking that the wing flex in GMAX, as with many other animations is more than just an on-off switch, and I seem to remember a McDonell-Douglas add-on for FS that has wingflex that responds to turbulence.

Their wingflex is very smooth and ever reacts to turbulence! Try it for yourself and see...Byron Toby
