COLD START

I WANT A LITTLE HELP TO START PMDG 737NG ENGINES COLD ,WHEN AT A GATE OF AN AIRPORT.BUT HOW?ALWAYS IN FS9 ARE ON.AND HOW TURN OFF THEM, AT THE END OF SUCCSESSFUL LANDING AND PARKING?THANKS IN ADVANCE.:-zhelp

utilize the PMDG 'cold and dark' startup flight (this will ensure that all is trully cold and dark)then...follow the checklist provided with the product, if followed properly FS9 will have no choice but to start the engines

CPU: Core i5-6600K 4 core (3.5GHz) - overclock to 4.3 | RAM: (1066 MHz) 16GB
MOBO: ASUS Z170 Pro |  GeForce GTX 1070 8GB | MONITOR: 2560 X 1440 2K

There seems to be a limit in FS9 that the engines always start when you load up. There are 2 ways around it.1. You can select your dep airport and gate with the default Cessna loaded, shut the engine down and turn everything off. Then load the PMDG from the start menu and all should be cold and dark. This has been known to cause systems to crash tho.2. You can just grin and bear it and shut the engines down immediately, then start from scratch and just pretend all is normal.Unless there is some other way?? such as the PSS A330/340 which alows cold and dark selection.Regards

Ps to shut engines down use the fuel cut off levers on the throttle window.

Load default Cessna, turn off everything, incl. engines. Make it cold and dark. Save as default flight and under name "Default".Restart FS, change to PMDG and start the flight. PMDG will be in cold cockpit (except engine levers, they will be up).

Could I suggest a minor addition to Word Not Allowed's recommendation and that is that the Avionics Switch in the Cessna should be left on. If you haven't allocated a switch or a key for it in FS9 you will not be able to control the radios.David.

I agree, that is why the best advice is to use the PMDG 'cold and dark' then simply relocate to your fav airport and save that setup.

That's the way to go! I never understand why people keep on posting about loading a Cessna and turning it off!!! It should be forbidden and punished! ;) :)The manual itself states you have to load the PMDG cold and dark flight in order to get the best results! Simple as that! I did that when I bought the 737NG, changed everything to my liking (airport, other conditions, etc), saved the flight as my default flight and never ever have problems with engines starting.Maybe they should make a sticky post about this...
