September 19, 200421 yr Hello all, if I'm not mistaken if the engines are running and power is on the APU if you turn off the APU the power should switch automatically to the IDGs. Is this correct? In the PMDG it deos not happen. :( Just found it out the hard way.. forgot switching to the IDGs and when i shut off the APU after takeoff i had a loss of A/T and some other stuff :DBye, Luca Luca Benelli PMDG & WX Radar? read here

No, the autoswitch only happens after takeoff. And in the pmdg (+800/900 and update) it does not happen neighter in takeoff even if it should. At least it does not happen to me.
September 19, 200421 yr I dont think it will automatically switch to the IDG's. I may be wrong though. Cheers,RyanProfessional Coffee Drinker/BAe146 DriverAircraft Maintenance Engineer
September 22, 200421 yr Hi There is an automatic switching between the APU Gen & Intergrated Drive Generator's (IDG's).This only happens when the crew shuts down the APU when the aircraft leaves the ground and when the APU supply power to both transfer buses, then there is an automatic transfer from the APU gen to both IDG's.Greetings Mark.
