September 21, 200421 yr I imagine this has come up a time or two before. . . couldn't find in the search engine and the manual explains all the buttons on the EFIS Panel right up to, but not including the TERR.This TERR button seems to do nothing. I guess it is inopperable at present. . . or is it? There is a key assignment - Ctrl+Shft+Tab+2. Will we ever have a terrain overlay on Navigation Display, or is it not realistc?Terry
September 21, 200421 yr No it does not do anything. DO you know of any other sim that has the terrain displayed like the real one? If so I would be interested in seeing it.Best Wishes,
Randy J. September 21, 200421 yr Randy et al,I think the PM GC line has the ability to show terrain. I remember seeing it in the demo software. Don't now how it is collected though. Looks pretty neat but is very CPU intensive.Have a look at: www.projectmagenta.comCheers, Mats JohanssonPMDG Flight Test Dept | Asus Z270-A | Intel i5-7600K @ 4.8 GHz OC/H2O | nVidia Geforce GTX 1070 8GB OC/O2|
September 21, 200421 yr Hey, easy big guy. It was just a question. Id be satisfied with seeing the default GPS display in the Nav window.Terry
September 21, 200421 yr Easy back at ya! That was not meant in a negative way, I am really interested in this if it exists lol. The NO in caps was a type not a yell. Sorry if you got the wrong impression.Best Wishes,
Randy J. Smith
http://www.rawbw.com/~bdoolin/shinault/Animation1.gifCaution! September 21, 200421 yr Hi Terry,Just curious, with all of the sophisticated NAV display and NAV systems in the NG why would you want the default FS GPS display? George Morris
September 21, 200421 yr That's not a FS2XXXX product Jeff ;-)Best Wishes,
Randy J. Smith
http://www.rawbw.com/~bdoolin/shinault/Animation1.gifCaution! September 21, 200421 yr No, but you did ask for any sim ;)For those interested you also need to download a number of terrain data files that can be heavy on modem users. All described at the site mentioned above. Works superbly and perhaps some hot shot programmer can contact the Glideslope people and see if something similar can be done with a MSFS gauge? Fingers crossed, I /Tord Hoppe, Sweden
September 21, 200421 yr George wrote: "Terry,Just curious, with all of the sophisticated NAV display and NAV systems in the NG why would you want the default FS GPS display?"George"Hi George,Just cause I know where I am doesn't meen I don't want the moving map. The real NG pilots have one don't they? :-) If the Terr display is not available at present then the GPS display might be an alternative. Terry :-)
