September 27, 200421 yr :-( I've just upgraded to 737 800/900 and at the same time upgraded my PC to Athlon 2800+ 1.00gb of RAM and a GeForce 5200 graphic card.I was expecting my Frame Rate to fly off the screen. Not so. It's ok in the air, but when using Heathrow Pro and VFR Photographic scenery (East& South East England only) frame rate is as low as 2 frps. Settings in FS2004 are set to around high. Am I expecting too much of my system? A jerky take off using add on scenery was not what I expected. I have to say that using FS airports does not cause any problems. Your advice would be much appreciated. Marty
September 27, 200421 yr I think you're expecting a little too much mate. The VFR scenery is quite heavy on its own, added with the frame hog Heathrow Pro & our NG its not surprising you're getting low frame rates.Try some of the tweak guides in the hardware discussion forum.. :) Cheers,John TavendaleTextures by Tavers - https://www.facebook.com/texturesbytavers
September 27, 200421 yr You have a very slow video card slower than the Geforce 4 line. Disable the dx 9 water and reduce in game settings. You can
September 27, 200421 yr One of the best things I can suggest is to remove any "spyware" etc using Spybot or similar programs from my machine - spyware really slows up even fast machinesRichard
September 27, 200421 yr FS9 and NG really tax the PC.Even with an Athlon 64 3000+ and an nVidia 6800, I struggle with add on scenery.I guess it depends on what you want but I've given up on scenery with NG. I'd sooner have NG and a good frame rate, some traffic and some weather.
September 27, 200421 yr A 2,75 Gig a64 and an 6800 ULTRA struggles too :). But if I reduce Traffic and autogen I can fly about everywhere with good enough framerates :) That is what it takes I think to not have to compromise to hard with image quality get the full worth out of this beautiful aircraft :)
September 29, 200421 yr Thanks to all of you for your advise. I suspected that I was asking too much of my PC. I now take off from Gatwick and everything works fine Marty:-)
