I recently had a total windows system crash - fortunately maintaining most files on a D drive but have had to reinstall windows and FS9 and to get the sim back to its' highly tweaked state will take for ever!There are always so many shortcuts that are hard to remember!Can anyone remind me how to configure the Logitech mouse wheel to zoom the VC cockpit?? This was always a great asset for me but for the life of me I can't recall how I had set it up and none of the expected programming has workedThanks to anyone who has any suggestionsRichardCYHM

Great Survey - enjoyed seeing the spectrum of responses and not surprised by the high numbers using FS9.I am the kind of guy who usually gets the new program on the day it is released. For FS however I have always been disappointed in performance even when I have a fast machine chosen for FS. I have FSX but I fly FS9 - it is fantastic on my machine with all sliders to the right, max traffic etc. I will likely stay with FS9 until there is a machine that can run FSX in a similar way - and as yet I don't think we are quite thereFrom the Screen shots forum it is clear that for many the visual quality of FS9 is very high and in some instances equal to FSX especially as run on many simmers machinesThe problems with OOM errors etc are still a problem for many who have not found the 3/4G switch to work or have not switched to 64 bit OS but these problems have been occurring with both FSIn any event I'm with FS9 and ainstalld but unused FSX!RichardCYHM

I have been using RC for more than 5 years with minimal problems and a great deal of fun! Currently using FS9, RC4 and AS6 with AES. I was flying the PMDG MD11FI recently upgraded URSS to the very nice freeware Sochi2007 which works with AES and reran the RC4 database. Last night flying in to Sochi I was only offered Rwy 20 and 24 although the active rwy was 06. Later when leaving for OMDB I obtained weather correctly - by FSS dial-up but could not start the clearance which was offered on the ground and in the air. After failing on the ground I chose airborn clearance but this never materialised and indeed there were no key responses. I cancelled the flight and relaoded everything and the same problem occurred. In view of the recent issue of grnd frequency reported yesterday I am wondering if there is some known incompatability with Sochi 2007?I have checked and RC4 is working normally at my usual add-on airports so reluctant to reload etc. Everything else at Sochi seems to be operating normallyAny thoughts or advice would be appreciatedRichardCYHM

I have had this happen twice and have not been able to correct the reading on the ND although the aircraft is flying at the correct height the FLT-PLAN INIT is correct and barometric pressure etc is standard. Any advice on how to get the ND and FMC synchronizedThanksRichardCYHM

Thanks Dan. I have repeatedly been through my FSUIPC (registered version) and cannot see where the "block" is.I have tried removing the axis (aircraft specific) in the Joystick settings #2 where the brakes are mentioned - doesn't make any difference. The only thing that corrects it temporarily is to go to the assignments - open the CH pedals and close them again WITHOUT making any changes to the settings! This after the aircraft is loaded! Brakes then work for the remainder of the flight but I have to go through same sequence each time I fly MD11Any further thoughts?RichardCYHM

Thanks Dan. As soon as the aircraft is loaded I hear the brakes release and they will not then engage - I cannot therefore release the brakes by pedals or lever because they are never engaged!! RichardCYHM

I have the MD11 for FS9 and the service update is installed :( I am operating with XP and have CH yoke and pedals and a sidewinder joystickThe aircraft is great and I have had no problems flying it :( I am having a problem with the MD11 park brake not engaging in FS9 - I have read several emails in the forum and have not been able to resolve this B) The engines are running and there is normal hydraulic pressure and there is no effect of AUX pump1I did not undertake any particular configuration of FSUIPC or particularly the yoke, pedals or joystick on installation since ALL my aircraft including PMDG 747 and 737s were working normallyI have tried to understand the discussions concerning the ideal configuration of pedals, yoke etc but no changes I have tried have solved the problem :( For anyone with a suggested solution please be quite specific about any changes - I am not to good with having to edit FSUIPC etc!!! Both flights 777ERThe CX flight I was on left about 10 mins before the AC flight and took a North Pacific route arriving 15h 08m. The CX flight arrived about 15 mins before the CX flight and I wonder if it took a polar route Thanks in anticipation!

I have both. Was very disappointed in the delays from Capt SimThe flight dynamics with Capt Sim 757 are for very good and superior to PSS 757. Flight management system has worked quite well but he sim is so full of irrelevant eye candy and views and yet there is no pedestal with the 2D panel!!! How one can fly seriosly without the pedestal?? Moreover the virtual panel does not respond fast enough to fly with that aloneHope this helps

I have a problem which I hope someone can help me with I have a repeated (100%)and predictable CTD just north of the Kempten VOR - KPT - in southern Germany. As all of you who fly Europe know this is a key VOR for routes from NW Europe to the Balkans, Greece, Turkey, the middle east and Egypt etcI have not been able to solve the problem despite ALL the usual approaches - including those recommended on the various forums I am running FS9 and have ultimate terrain Europe installed - and updated and I had to manually install some files which the update asked for.I also have Ground Environment Pro, Landscape Germany files and also the Alps meshAs for nearby airports, I have Zurich, Stuttgart, Innsbruck and Salzburg installedI have tried uninstalling each separately and all together but the same CTD occurs irrespective I am wondering if there is a file missing / removed or replaced. Do myou have any advice from your knowledge of FS9 scenery, is a reinstall the only solution or is it possible to identify the original files for this location which I could probably define quite closely with the geographic co-ordinates I would very much appreciate any advice you might have
