October 3, 200421 yr Dirk,I think that is the point Bob is trying to make! ;-) The sounds from within the flight deck are different from the ones in the cabin. I wouldn't be surprised if the engine sounds are even lower on the real deck than in FS.Maybe one of the real world driver's could chip in and tell us? As Randy already stated the r/w pilots on the beta team were happy with the sounds.Cheers, Mats JohanssonPMDG Flight Test Dept | Asus Z270-A | Intel i5-7600K @ 4.8 GHz OC/H2O | nVidia Geforce GTX 1070 8GB OC/O2|
October 3, 200421 yr My wife 'whines' a lot more especially during take off. When the engines are off and i'm 'on chocks' the noise is completely different.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/93147.jpg

October 4, 200421 yr Hi Bob,Not on this thread specifically, but you mentioned some problems with the 800-900 update(now fixed), and I wanted to say, this is the only reason I am hesitating over getting the larger aircraft - I want to, but have read reports that, in some cases, it has caused problems with flying the 600-700 series(I only remember one issue, which was that one user said autoland didn't work so well any more).I may be making something out of nothing, but I would like to know if the problem you reported above occurred when you "retrofitted" the 600-700 aircraft with features of the 800-900 series(for example, improved VC)?Many thanks,Frank

This was a very small number of 800-900 owners. I honestly have been flying on the 800 since I fly for a Delta Virtual Airline and only the 800 comes in Delta Paint, so I don't know if the 6-7 series had any issues, but I don't think so.
October 4, 200421 yr "I guess the engines do not sound very much different in the cockpit than in the cabin."I based this idea on some short movies I downloaded from the wonderful www.a340.net. On this website, you can download free cockpit movies. In one of them, you can see an in-cockpit take-off, in which you can clearly hear the 737 engines whining. This was an old generation 737 though. You should go and see the movie, it's very nice.
October 4, 200421 yr Pricelessly funny and deeply politically incorrect!I assume your wife is not a regular visitor to the PMDG Support Forum? :-)BR,Frank

My impression is that the program is very professionally done. So far I have had no problems at all.The sounds of AI landing and taking of at your favourite airport will have you just sitting and watching(and listeing.Good value for money.

It is GREAT!!!!
October 6, 200421 yr Can anyone recommend to me to some realistic 737 sound files for the PMDG 737?Regardspaul
October 6, 200421 yr Paul,The default PMDG sounds are realistic enough for our NG pilots on the beta team. So I'll recommend the default NG sounds that ships with the product. ;-)Cheers, Mats JohanssonPMDG Flight Test Dept | Asus Z270-A | Intel i5-7600K @ 4.8 GHz OC/H2O | nVidia Geforce GTX 1070 8GB OC/O2|
