October 12, 200421 yr has anyone had any problems/issues with PMDG 737 and the FS9 patch? Basically, I'm asking if the install of the patch is transparent with regard to the PMDG planes? I'm waffleing on getting the patch as I don't want to have to hassle with repairing and reinstalling addon's; especially PMDG.
October 12, 200421 yr Please sign your name on this forum, thank you. No the patch does not deal with ANY add-on planes whatsoever. Best Wishes,[h4]Randy J. October 12, 200421 yr I'm absolutely sure this forum would be buzzing with all kinds of threads if the FS9 update caused a crash or performance decreased. Right after installing the update I flew from KORD to KSTL and had no problem. In fact the aircraft felt more stable (if that's possible) during the takeoff/landing phases (the weather was extremely bad landing). Why don't you update? You can always uninstall the update if it creates problems on your system. As far as I understand and reading the install instructions for the FS9 patch, the patch should not affect your add-ons except increase your framerates or provide better stability within the sim.Jim Young
October 12, 200421 yr Author Sorry about the signature. That's good news about PMDG. However, the news is not quite as good with regard to Ultimate Traffic which I also use, and like. So, for now, I will forgo the patch as my system is generally running fairly well. Mike Monce
October 12, 200421 yr I have had no problems at all with the patch (making sure I sorted FSUIPC and Active Camera first). All other add-ons (FS Nav/Traffic2004/ActiveSky/Scenery etc seem to work as they should.I have a noticeable improvement in frame rates (approx 3-5)..... mind you, I'm still running XP SR1.

October 12, 200421 yr Hi Mike,Have UT installed myself but haven't found any problems after installing both SP2 for XP and the latest MSFS patch. Haven't flied that much since though - what is the problem with the patch and UT?
October 13, 200421 yr I am running XP Service Pack 2 (SP2) and FS2004 9.1 patch and have no issues with PMDG 737.Everything seems to work just fine.cheersJosh
October 13, 200421 yr Visit the SP2 Forum on this web site and read some of the problems. Then make up your mind. I had to uninstall it from my PC and use system restore to get my FS9 to work correctly.
October 13, 200421 yr I had to uninstall/reinstall FS9 as the patch blew up at panel.dll, but other than that, seems to work. Didn't have to reinstall any add-ons. All settings kept, gained quite a few FPS especially in high density scenery, and I now have my dynamic non-descript buildings back, I am a happy camper, after admittedly voicinga few choice words I dare not repeat here when the patch install failed the first time... The VC in particular is more a pleasure than ever. How quick we go from sad to happy.Cheers,
