October 22, 200421 yr Hi allFor those who are using 17" CRT monitor, what is the resolution and VGA card you all use?thanks.
October 23, 200421 yr Mikkel - I think it may have something to do with your signature image. It can be seen as offensive by some.Best regards, Mats JohanssonPMDG Flight Test Dept | Asus Z270-A | Intel i5-7600K @ 4.8 GHz OC/H2O | nVidia Geforce GTX 1070 8GB OC/O2|
October 23, 200421 yr I'm glad someone approves......oh well let me write my reply again then. The resolution should be in the 4x3 ratio which on a 17" CRT monitor is 1280x960 and not 1280x1024 as many mistakenly set.
October 23, 200421 yr The recommended resolution for a 17" monitor is 1024x768I would use 1152x864 when i had a 17"Recommended:15" - 800x60017" - 1024x76819" - 1280x96021" - 1600x1200These are not maximum resolutions by any means, that depends primarily on the graphics card.
October 23, 200421 yr I have a 19" and use 1600x1200. Can't stand any other resolution. Cheers,John TavendaleTextures by Tavers - https://www.facebook.com/texturesbytavers
October 23, 200421 yr Hi Mr Niceguy !Thanks for your comments and idea, actually i'm happy with performance and get 20-25 FPS when running on 1024x768 but gauge display consider difficult to read, when 1280x768 resolution, only get 15-20 FPS but very nice view.Regards,Shaheedan Bin Abdul Wahab,Oil Town (Miri), Malaysia
October 23, 200421 yr In this discussion I haven't see any mention of dot pitch which (along with monitor bandwidth) is the most important factor in determining how clear and sharp your picture will be on your CRT Monitor. Dot pitch is the distance between the dots on the monitor screen and generally in a good monitor would be around 22-27 mm and 22 mm horizontally. If you try to feed a resolution into the monitor that has closer spacing between the pixels than the dot pitch, it will cause the picture quality to drop. You have to experiment with your own monitor to see what looks best. Here are some examples of screen size and recommended resolutions on CRT monitors. resolution screen size ( viewable area) 640x480 7.9"x5.9" (9.9" diagonal) 800x600 9.8"x7.4" (12.3" diagonal) 832x624 10.3"x7.7" (12.9" diagonal) 1024x768 12.6"x9.5" (15.8" diagonal) 1152x870 14.2"x10.7 (17.8" diagonal) 1280x960 15.7"x11.8" (19.6" diagonal) Naturally in a LCD monitor, you want you video card on your PC to be set to the native resolution of the Panel.
