Ok, that didn't come across too well...The 717 is basically a water downed version of the MD-11 cockpit, as many of the systems that are automated on the MD-11 are not automated on the 717. Also, the arrangement of the cockpit is somewhat different (engine start controlld are on the overhead). The 717 does have very similar, if not the same avionics as the MD-11.

What about the md-10. You start the engines on the top too. Also the md-10 is similar to the md-11 than the 717, no?

I rode on a Hawaiian 717 from PHNL to PHOG,with a visual to runway 2 on Maui. We cut the corner,skimming the west Maui mountains, we did 250 to the marker,screamin in. What a ride :( A buddy gave me the pilot,and maintenance CD's,What a great airplane! I hope PMDG does this A/C.
