Seat Belt Signs Off for Refuelling.....

Featured Replies

Well as far as I know, the aircraft was actual taxying to terminal 2 after landing. Dunno where they've got the refueling part from????

No idea about the refueling either. Could be because it was on a fuel stop at MAN however it wasn't actually refueling at the time of the incident. From what I have gathered it sounds like the brakes overheated during landing and caused some smoke. Pax and crew evac'ed by way of the emergency slides. Only a few minor injuries, probably sprained ankles, bruises etc., common with exiting via the slides. There was also some rumors that it may be a maintenance error. Apparantly a few other PIA 777's have had the same wheel fires which turned out to be caused by the wrong grease being used somewhere.More stories:http://www.sky.com/skynews/article/0,,30000-1172792,00.htmlhttp://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/manchester/4307511.stmAs per usual the media over sensationalises these things although credit where credit is due, at least both these links got the aircraft type correct. And no one has called it an Airbus 737 yet ;)Cheers,David
