PMDG does not owe you CRAP until you buy the 747-400 product from them, and under any circumstances, they are NOT obligated to tell you when the release date is, and as such, IF they want to give you a release date, then it's their decision, NOT YOURS!! :-bangProblem #1: What happens when developers GIVE a specific release date? Sudden, unwanted delays happen because of some totally unexpected bugs in the product's release candidate, and the developers end up getting needlessly and unjustly flamed by over-eager whiners!! :-rollProblem #2: What happens when developers DON'T GIVE a specific release date, in order to totally avoid Problem #1? They STILL get flamed by over-eager whiners who believe that, according to their flawed sense of logic, the developers are obligated to tell them the specific release date, when in reality the developers are NOT obligated to do that at all! The developers don't owe you CRAP until you buy the certain product from them, and it's up to them whether or not they should release any product info or specific release dates! :-rollYou see where I'm getting at here, people? It's sad to say that payware FS developers nowadays almost can't get around one of the above listed problems, simply because of the flawed sense of logic from a seriously annoying bunch of over-eager whiners, who think that product delays which are actually for the benefit of the end customer are needless, and who also speak as if they're the bosses of these developers with regards to product info and release dates! I really feel sorry for the PMDG team because of all the needless and unjust bickering that they're getting from these over-eager whiners, and that's why I'm posting this post. Folks, quite seriously, if this continues on with each product developmet cycle in PMDG, then I really fear the worst: that PMDG would wrap up the final projects on their to-do list and retire from business, and I mean this very seriously!!!! These over-eager whiners are giving a very negative effect on the PMDG team!!!! :(Please, people, let PMDG do things at their own pace and release this magnificent example of FS craftsmanship when they feel that the time is right!PMDG have NEVER "teased" you with previews or info, it is YOU who have constantly nagged them for these previews and info, and then you actually reward these kind fellas by accusing them of simply "teasing" you guys??!! What an amazing display of a flawed sense of logic!!!! x(They do NOT have to give you any release dates, and they do NOT have to give you any previews or product info during the development of their products. They don't owe you ANYTHING until you buy the certain product that you're asking for, which is in this case the 747-400.So For God's Sake, people, take your mind completely off of the PMDG 747-400 and MSFS in general during the next two weeks by doing something else which is TOTALLY un-related to FS. The reason of why I say this is because if you actually attempt to busy yourself by flying in FS for a while, you'll keep thinking about the PMDG 747-400, which will in turn drive you to return to this forum and needlessly nag the PMDG team about any release date info about the 747-400!!!! If you want to do something aviation related but NOT FS related, then fine. Go fly a kite (yes, literally), make and fly some paper planes (I can suggest some great books for those!), fly an RC plane or copter, take a passenger ride in a glider or ultralight, or anything else aviation related which is NOT related to FS!! :7Even better than all of that, is that you do something which is TOTALLY un-related to FS or aviation, like for instance, your favorite hobby other than FS!! It could be anything, like console gaming (PS2, XBox, GameCube, PSP, etc.), riding BMX bikes, skate-boarding, roller skating, ice skating, reading novels, reading anything un-related to FS or aviation (read about your favorite kinds of animals; my favorites are whales, dolphins, sharks and prehistoric sea monsters), whale watching, camping (great idea, NO INTERNET!!!!), fishing, going to an amusement park or zoo or marine park, watching a movie (go watch War of The Worlds, lots of awesome special effects!!), going to watch your favorite team at a live game at a sports stadium (baseball, soccer ball, football, cricket, whatever you like....), taking your wife to a very special restaurant (highly recommended!!!! But, if you're unmarried, then forget about this suggestion! ;) ), going to the beach, swimming, snorkeling in the sea, or my personal favorite hobby other than FS: SCUBA DIVING!!!! :-hahYup, I'm pretty lucky to be going on a diving trip myself with my buddies this next Thursday morning. I haven't planned this diving trip myself (my buddies did), but it has really helped to take my mind off of the PMDG 747-400, by preparing my diving equipment and reviewing my diving procedures prior to the trip, even though I still do check the PMDG forum a few times each day after Robert's announcement about the 744's closeness to release (but I DON'T nag the PMDG team about it!!!!). Should be some pretty nice conditions for diving in the Jeddah area of the Red Sea this next Thursday morning, and I'm pretty hopeful about seeing some interesting critters down there, such as a shark or two! ;) Believe me, the sense of accomplishment that you get after completing a diving trip is FAR greater than the sense of accomplishment you get from finishing any airliner flight in FS!! ;)After these two weeks, get back to this forum, and you'll most probably find that the PMDG 747-400 has been released!! Isn't that great??!! :-hah And if it hasn'r been released yet, then get back to what you were doing during those past two weeks for a few more days, until the PMDG 747-400 gets released!!!! :-hahPersonally, I'll busy myself with scuba diving, watching movies at home with my friends and family, reading books and playing PS2 games until the magnificent PMDG 747-400 Queen of The Skies gets released!!!! :-hahSo there you have it, people. Please get off of PMDG's back, and let them finish their own business at their own pace!!!! By keeping yourselves from needlessly nagging the PMDG team about release dates or previews or product info during the development of their products, you will keep them comfortable and happy with their business, which in turn will be of great benefit for us PMDG customers, because that way, PMDG will stay in their business and keep developing and releasing amazing products to us for years and years to come!!!! :7 On the other hand, if you actually keep nagging the PMDG team about release dates or previews or product info during the development of their products, then you can easily imagine the negative effect that this will have on the PMDG team!!!! :(PMDG, I hope that you don't mind the fact that I sound a bit harsh in this thread about these over-eager whiners, but it's really all for the benefit of you guys. Phew....a not-unreasonable point, but in my view misplaced.Most posts I see are from excited simmers, possibly getting carried away a bit, but nearly all in good fun.I haven't yet seen anyone 'flame' PMDG over their pending birth, and the time it takes.Sure, there'll probably be the occasional moron that takes it too far, but that would appear to be the exception, not the norm.And I'm sure PMDG, like all of us, have an ego. I can just picture Captain Rob sitting in his leather recliner, computer logged onto the forums, shaking his head in disbelief at almost every single post that has pretty much overtaken this entire forum. A leopard can't change his spots, so please, stop trying to force them to. If people here want to keep refreshing the page to see if the 744 has been released and make posts regarding its release, LET THEM. Why get stressed out over something that has absolutely nothing to do with you.Personally, I log on once a day to see if there is anything new. If not, I go about my day. And to make it even better, yesterday, I logged on in the morning, no news, went to the casino to take my mind off the computer and won $300 in a few games of poker.NOW, finally I can tell the missus I can afford this beautiful aircraft.She wasn't happy I gambled, but she didn't say no to the money I gave her for a new pair of shoes.To the "refreshers" in this forum, my advice is to go out and enjoy your day.
