CD version

Featured Replies

For installation issues (independence from internet connectivity, offline installations etc.), I'd like to have a CD version of the 747 available.Since PMDG doesn't offer one, but e.g. Aerosoft does, I'd like to know whether it's possible to trade-in the online version in favor of a SC version. I don't like the idea of paying twice for the same thing of course ;-)Maybe it's difficult 'cause Aerosoft has no closer relation to PMDG, but anyway, any suggestion is welcome!Andreas

I have the same question Andreas, I still have received a response yet, but its been the holidays and very busy for the devs.Cheers,Erichttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/747400.jpg

The CD version still requires an Internet connection to validate and install guys... It wouldn't make much sense security wise for PMDG if the CD version was easily uploadable to a file-sharing site with no validation protection would it?

No it wouldn't but I wasn't sure how the d/l version of the 737 was as I only have the aerosoft version. So what is a custormer to do if they don't even have an internet connection anymore? That's probably going to be my situation in the coming months and if I have to reinstall FS9 or the Queen for any reason I can't reinstall. What's a guy to do?Cheers,Erichttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/747400.jpg

It's a tradeoff between less piracy and 0.01% of the customers without an internet connection on their FS computers being happier.

Unless PMDG make a way of transferring the Validation to a different computer :-hmmmm

There were probably legions of Chinese waiting to copy this CD by millions ;)I happen to know something about the vibrant flight simulation market in Poland and there was always this one place in Warsaw (don't know about other cities) were you could get many pirated flightsim CDs for about $6 a piece.Michael J.http://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/pmdg_744F.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_beta_member.jpg
