August 19, 200817 yr During my last flight in the 737-700 this message appeared in the EICAS panel under Engine 1 "Start valve open". It popped up whe I pressed the Q key which is assigned to the ND Mode switch, movement to the left. The E key moves the switch to the right. Now the E key worked fine but not the Q key. This key is not assigned to anything else. (See screenie)http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/191654.jpgWhat is this referring to and how does one correct it. By the way, this appeared in flight although the screenie was done on the ground with engines off.Jim D.
August 19, 200817 yr Author Sorry about the screen shot size. I'll have to redo it and repost later today.Jim D.
August 19, 200817 yr Author Here is a better screen shot of the message that appeared as mentioned in my 1st post.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/191683.jpgJim D.
August 19, 200817 yr It means the starte valve is open, what do you think it means?Look at the overhead. The left ignition knob should be in the start position when this message is displayed.Karsten
August 19, 200817 yr Author Sarcasm I can do without. Maybe you didn't read the initial post. What I discovered is that somehow the Q key now is linked to the #1 engine start switch instead of where I have it assigned, as the ND Mode Decrease function, although the switch itself does not move to the start position. It was working fine the other day. I checked all the other assignments in FS9 and in FSUIPC and nothing is assigned to the Q key other than what I had assigned it to.Where or what could have changed it?Edit: Now I also noticed that the keyboard assignment for decreasing the range on the ND also is not functioning. The increase assignments for both function correctly. All assignments for the MCP are set to the keyboard through the PMDG assignment option.Karstan, if you can respond like an adult and avoid the sarcasm and can help, I would appreciate it. If not, please stay away.Jim D.
August 20, 200817 yr Author I did a couple of key assignments for another aircraft using FSUIPC and forgot to check the box indicating "specific aircraft". So all is back to normal again.Jim D.
