  1. Maybe you should check. ;) In latin the spelling is "Rhodus". That's where the "h" came from and persists to this day in french, german, dutch, swedish, english, norwegian. Italian, spanish and portuguese dropped the h. So your initial point that it is "Rodes" for the european readers is simply wrong.
  2. It's all in the hands of the people who manage Bing Maps.
  3. @LRBS Just ignore him. He once was daft enough to exclaim that he refuses to believe that pilots use their home simulator for procedural training and when pointed out that this is indeed good enough, he questioned either their abilities or sanity. Thinks himself an expert on how pilots work. Or rather should work.
  4. Took her out for a touch and go at Burbank. Flies beautiful as ever, the new features are a welcome addition.
  5. I'm with you on that. There are many fields were compromises have to be made in fidelity. These are after all add-ons that you can buy for less than 100 dollars. It's not a multimillion dollar Level-D representation of the real thing. But despite all that, one would hope that at least all functionality for flight planning the pilot is given in the real aircraft can also be found in an add-on like this. Sadly that's rarely the case.
  6. You should go the extra mile and do some real flightplanning. I found this to be the most fun about VFR flying: Having to figure out where you are actually allowed to fly and where you have to be in contact with a controller and where you can just fly as you see fit.
  7. That's something I did not expect. Great!
  8. I was asking because I was not sure whether he was making a general, already late announcement, or whether something was broken with the most current version of the mod, which I was unaware of. His advice was confusing because the update of the mod to make it compatible with 1.0.6 already came out yesterday evening. So about 12 hours before he posted about it.
  9. Why do you download a streamed aircraft anyway? Totally uneccesary.
  10. I know this is off topic to this particular issue, but the Navigraph Traffic integration based on FR24 is really doing great immersive stuff from time to time. I just had Tallin Control ask Hainan 490 for a confirmation of aircraft type and Hainan 490 answered "We are a 789" I thought this was one of the prescripted conversations that BATC does randomly when there is not much traffic around. But then I looked up at FR24 if there is a Hainan 490 currently around. And lo and behold there it was. It is flying from Berlin to Beijing and is currently over Estonia, so in that exact sector I am in. And it is indeed a 789.
  11. Why should we deinstall the CPDLC mod? It was already made compatible when you posted this. In other news, on my system 1.0.6 now finally makes the aircraft flyable and the performance is better.
  12. On the non visual approaches this got much better in recent updates. If BATC calculates that you are still too high it will give you some extra vectors and send you further downwind when it notices that you will not make the descend to the IAF. It seems they need to figure this out for the visual approaches as well.
  13. The latin transliteration of the old greek 'P is "Rh".
  14. No. The UI messages are text only.
  15. Simulation: UI -> Message verbosity. Set it to "Silent".
  16. Of course there is. Have a look in the options menu of GSX.
  17. Because with custom profiles you get correct real world pushback. Which is way more important than any visual gimmick.
  18. It's gotta be the City Update for Amsterdam. BTW, the next time please crop your screenshots down and don't just upload them to the hoster as is. They take forever to load because they are so big.
  19. I don't know, haven't had that many in the INI since like 5 Updates ago. But I still have them in the PMDG 777. Just had one today in the 77F just 10 Minutes after departure. Logged into CPDLC confirmed a frequency change and bam, all screens orange, WASM crash.
  20. Sometimes. But It's more likely that you had a WASM crash while you were sleeping and that's why you find the aircraft on the ground or in the sea.
  21. Shhh, you can't expect people to click on the link and read everything it says in that link. ;)
  22. Not for me. For me 1.0.5. actually performs worse than 1.0.4
