Nameless-I think you probably saw a CO flight number on a code-share operated flight. IE: CO/NWA are both part of the SkyTeam alliance- so certain NWA flights will carry CO flight numbers as well as their normal NW flight number.

I got the flight number, CO5002, from the Continental website. It didn't mention NWA, but thanks for the info. And the mirthy replies.
