PMDG 747 Insufficient fuel

Hi everybody!I'd to perform KLAX-VHHH like the real flight CPA881.I found the real flight plan on flightaware.com used the 27th december: VTU5 RZS J88 PYE J143 ENI FOT BOXER B453 TAMRU B453 MDO J804R ANC J111 UNK FDV G212 VALDA G212 ARGUK G212 KR B458 WXI A461 LIG R473 NNX R473 WYN W18 NLG W23 ZUH R473 SIERAOn the ramp at KLAX ,with a ZFW at 233500 kgs, there isn't enought fuel on board (full=173500kgs) and the FMC write "Insufficient fuel".I don't understand why my 747-400 can't do the same flight as the real one??? thanks in advance for your answers...:-hmmm

Just tried it and don't have a problem.However with that ZFW you cannot load 173500kgs fuel, the load manager states max fuel is 163490kgs. With that amount of fuel loaded and 12kgs as reserve the FMC does not give me an error.Using the fuel tables in the manual a 5,800nm trip requires a max of 142kgs plus adjustment for PLWT over 216,000kgs.Suggest you try loading fuel to 163,400kgs and see if that clears the problem.Dave

Thanks for your answer!I don't know how you do to find 5.800 Nm because my FMC and FSNavigator find both about 6750 Nm with the flight above...Then as you said I looked in the manual and this is what I found:My data: ZFW 223400 kg PLW 236400 kg (because I want 13000 kg as reserve)first FL to reach: FL 280 (so 310 in the table) and dist of trip: about 6800 Nmso 236400-216000=2040020400/4500=4.5From the table: 142000+[(145*4.5)*13.9]= 151070 kg so if I insert 151070 kgs in my FMC, there is not enought fuel for the trip and it's write: Insufficient fuelWhy it's not write at VHHH: 13.0 (my reserve in fact)hope you understand :-)thanks!

So you are risking that using 27th Dec. plan may not work with todays winds, you should use the historical winds that match the date of the flight plan. If I were I would first try to fly this route with no weather, great crircle and then induce weather when you get more advanced.To my knowledge there is no flight planning tool available among simulation community that takes winds into account like professional airline dispatch centers use - their software (I think it's Jeppesen's) is able to calculate so called wind-optimal route. This requires fairly advanced software. The flights plans you get from flightaware are wind-optimized, which is their biggest advantage.Michael J.

FAR is coming too ...at least when routes winds and aircraft perfs are well fed as for real ...!!!!see you
