Mike Ray's Checkride manual

Featured Replies

Been loving the 747 series from you guys for a while now and wanted to take my flying to the next level getting to know all the nooks and cranny's.So I recently picked up Mike Ray's real world 747-400 checkride manual from Aerosoft Canada (at a whopping $54 CDN!).All I can say is WOW (and worth every penny)! Talk about complete aircraft coverage down to every phase of start up to shut down in an easy and fun to read format. I'm not one for "manuals" but Mike puts it out there and makes it fun and writes like he's talking to you. What impresses me even more is how well the PMDG gang did on making a pretty close replica of this whale. As I went through the manual I was fmiliar with the real world 747-400. Pretty neat that PMDG came so close to the real thing. Almost scary (and made me even more respectful of how great a job they have done)So, just wanted to share something I feel some guys around here might find fun and useful if you looking to take it to that next step.

I found his 700 PC Sim Manual quite helpful, and only $30 US. This does not go into systems much but is more geared to flight operations, aircraft manipulation, and setting up the FMC. It is generic to 700 series glass cockpits, not a specific aircraft.

Yes I have that too. It was really what taught me how to use the FMC. The best part about his manuals is how easy & fun they are to read.
