NGX Preparation

Featured Replies

OK Guys...I have FSX, and installed it,but it is just sitting on my hard drive while I wait for the PMDG 737NGX. The NG is the only aircraft I fly with any regularity. So here is my question.Should I be doing something with FSX while I wait to install the not quite ready NGX? I want to be ready when NGX is available. For instance, should I install the service pack 1? Should I be doing the other tweaks I find on the forums, or should I wait for recommendations from PMDG?Thanks for any help.Don

Good question actually.Or at least in my case, a time frame, not a target release date, but some sort of window for release would be helpful in my case.I'm in the market for a new computer which supports FSX, but am reluctantly holding out knowing that PMDG has some big releases on the way.I'd hate to settle down with a new system now which may handle FSX in it's current state, but then find out it's brought to it's knees when the 747X, MD-11, and NGX are installed.Certainly if these releases are still sometime off (which I believe is most likely the case with the NGX, at least) I would probably bite the bullet, and I could least be get some enjoyment out of a new system, as opposed to sitting here waiting indefinitely.

If you intend to upgrade your hardware in any way just for the NGX, I would suggest waiting, as the NGX will not be out for some time.As for SP1, of course it should be installed. Best,Vin ScimonePMDGwww.precisionmanuals.comhttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/priv/img/forum/sig_pmdg.jpg
