Saving with PMDG 747

Featured Replies

howdy all, just a quick question.I own the pmdg 737 800/900 and am unable to save flights midway and restart with fmc in correct position. correct me if i'm wrong?i'm looking to purchase the 747. as the 747 is a long haul aircraft and i have limited time to fly am i able to save midway or at several points along the flight and resume with everything ok and/or in correct position (in regards to fmc)? my normal time per session is 1.5 to 2 hours and most of the 747 flights are well over this time limit.thanks in advance,Chris

You should be able to just save FS where it is and the cockpit state will load with the FS save file. If not, there will be a separate save file for the panel. But for the question in general, yes, you can save the panel state.Ryan GamurotLucky to live Hawai'ihttp://www.virtualpilots.org/signatures/vpa296.png

Hi,yessir you may save the flight midway or at TOD to have some approaches for practice . . .butbe aware that you have to fight before resuming the flight :1/ autopilot OFF2/ speed is at stick shaker level3/ a/c is climbing at a high rate4/ all winds disappeared in the FMC5/ gear handle is down, but NOT the gear !!6/ logo light OFF - but this you can forget . . . at least at my saved flights I made this experience - perhaps I make some mistakes . . . Hi Ryan, that's right - I am saving via the FS file, but this is also saving in the PMDG file, they are identical ? or not ?Karl-Heinz - EDDI/THF " Tempelhof "" The mother of all airports " - Sir Norman Foster

The PMDG file is mainly used for starting with different panel set-ups at the gate. That's why the FMC was blank and the gear leaver was down. When you save FS, it will automatically save the panel state and load it when you continue the flight.Ryan GamurotLucky to live Hawai'ihttp://www.virtualpilots.org/signatures/vpa296.png

Sorry, I misread your original post. I thought you were saving both. But to be honest, I really don't know why that's happening for you. Maybe someone else out there does?Ryan GamurotLucky to live Hawai'ihttp://www.virtualpilots.org/signatures/vpa296.png
