Engine sounds too loud in new 747-400X cockpit

Featured Replies

Using the quiet adjustment to turn down the loud engine sounds works fine on all outside views. But it has almost no influence to the very loud engine sounds in the cockpit view which is very disturbing.Am I missing something?Robert

Yes you are ;-)The cockpit sound is dominated by the wind sound. This was discussed a lot when the initial FS9 Queen was released. It's said to be realistic by the real world experts. Pull the environment sound slider to the left if you want decrease the sound of the wind.Ulf B

The new sound set was meticulously tweaked according to input by a captain who has among the highest hours as PIC on the 744 in the world. It's as realistic as it can get.

Dave,Here are our recommended sound settings for the FS9 soundset:http://ops.precisionmanuals.com/wiki/Sound...ommended_LevelsIn FSX we recommend all sound settings in the FSX and PMDG options to use the default setting of 50. If you wish to tweak the volumes to suit your personal preferences then you can use the following options:FSX Sound Menu - Engines (All views)FSX Sound Menu - Cockpit (Controls Gear Up / Gear Down cockpit sound)FSX Sound Menu - Environment (Controls Wind in cockpit / wingviews) PMDG Sound Dial - All PMDG Panel Sounds (GPWS / TCAS / Misc)Armen L Cholakianhttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/priv/img/forum/sig_pmdg.jpg
