PMDG 737 800-900 FMC ICAO issue using FS9

Featured Replies

Hi I'm new to this forum and it looks really interesting with a wealth of info here. Anyway, whilst flying from Gatwick to Nice the aircraft (737-800) suffered serious technical issues and I needed to change the destination in the fmc to an alternate. However, the [altn destination] lsk would not work so I tried to change the ICAO destination on the ACARs page...this would not work either. I got around the alternate issue by deleting the old flight plan waypoints and adding new waypoint and approach fixes for that particular route and airport. Still, after going through the fmc manual again I didn't see a reference to alternate destination change for flight plan modification. Hmmm...I'm sure PMDG would have incorporated this one into the manual-wouldn't they!Any help would be great guys.ThanksHilary

The only leg that can't be modified is the one you are on. The solution is to build the flight plan to your new destination beginning on the next leg after the one you're on. Then switch to heading and promote the next fix you want to the top LSB, change heading towards that fix, accept and execute the change.I hope I understood your question.

Hi, no...I was able to modify the waypoints and fixes as per the manual's guidance quite easily...it is the ICAO code (eg LFMN) I cannot change in the FMC. So, I was not able to get the FMC to tune in the ILS frequency for the respective approach I was using. Thanks anyway DanHilary

Hilary,As far as I can recall there is no RTE 2 possibility on the NG FMC. On the real world FMC however there is am ALTN DES entry on the INDEX page where the pilot can enter up to five alternate destinations. This feature is not implemented in the PMDG FMC. If memory serves me right the only thing you can do in the PMDG NG is to put the auto flight off any FMC mode i.e. any mode but VNAV and LNAV, delete the destination on the RTE page and reenter the alternate route and destination. After the new route and destination has been checked for consistency you can engage a DIR TO and reapply the FMC modes.Hope it helps,
